Clemson LB Shaq Smith is transferring to Maryland ...now Soph. Baylon Spector is penciled in as the Starter for Clemson ; along with MLB Jamie Skalski & Free Safety Tanner Muse.

Add to that projected 2nd team is DE Logan Rudolph ; LB Chad Smith & Strong Safety Nolan Tuner. Swinney has been bucking the trend recently recruiting white defenders; unheard a decade ago.

They also have 2020 Top Player in U.S. Commit D-Lineman Bryan Bresee.

I have to eat my words somewhat on Swinney. For the National Championship team that have been very white friendly but I will criticize their recruitment of yet another black quarterback in 2020.

I hope this is the right move for Charlie Jones, he really started to breakout last year but Buffalo brought in some transfer WR’s and lost Tyree Jackson who was a a decent QB to throw to ball to Jones. I hope he can continue to be a deep threat for Iowa.

Like clockwork these white players see stars in their eyes and abandon the football ship the second baseball comes a calling.

Speedy 2019 Michigan State WR Jase Bowen has decided to pursue baseball with the Pirates. If he makes it I have no complaints. But chances are against him to make it big in MLB whereas at the collegiate football level he could have made some real noise. We are not talking about a first round pick type although I don't doubt he is a talented baseball player.

Another one (might) be biting the dust. Too bad. Again hope he succeeds but if he doesn't just add his name to the countless other holy fool white athletes who abandoned football to chase a pot of rainbow in baseball that is beyond their reach.

Wasn’t sure where to post this but wanted to show some love to one of the most productive and underrated DT’s in college football over the past few years. Eli Hanback from Virginia is about to enter his 4th year as a starter and he has been very productive. He should be drafted next year but we all know how white DT’s are treated. Has prototypical size at 6’4” 300lbs.

Totals:
141 tackles
13.5 for loss
4.5 sacks
3 fumble recoveries
1 TD

Nick Muse, brother of Tanner, has committed to South Carolina as a FCS transfer. He’s a lean receiving tight end at 6’5” 235lbs.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a solid DL prospect to me. I'll have to keep an eye on him come fall. Could have another Tyler Lancaster/Dean Lowry in the making.

UCONN is going to leave the American Conference and head back to the Big East for all sports except football. It looks like they will have to go the independent route if they stay in the FBS as none of the mid-major conferences are interested in having them join (since they won't be brining basketball with them).

WR Braden Collins has transferred from Appalachian State to Tennessee. Wonder if he’ll ever see the field there.

WR Reid Rials has transferred to Troy from Southern Miss.

WR Hunter Hill who’s scholarship got pulled when the new coach came in has transferred from Memphis to Bryant.

Bad news: Duke WR Jake Bobo who was going to be a starter this year fractured his clavicle in practice.

Tate Martell lost the Miami QB battle to redshirt freshman Jarren Williams. I thought for sure he was going to be the guy, disappointing stuff.

I am sure he will play at some point. It is disappointing though that he did not win the job outright.

I agree Phoenix, ironic indeed. Tate bolts a team with a new head coach in Ryan Day who at least so far to me doesn't seem like an iron clad caste coach. I have felt all along he would get some significant playing time if he stayed at Ohio State. Just think if Fields got injured Tate was the only real back up. Then he heads to a traditionally deep seated caste school in Miami and ends up starting the season right where he started as a back up.

Could have saved himself a lot of trouble. Now the future has yet to unfold and maybe ultimately Tate will work his way into a starters role at Miami but right now I think he would have been better off showing patience and staying with Ohio State. Fields, a former baseball prospect, is a good athlete but the jury is still out on his throwing abilities.

Also worth noting that when Martell did play last year for the Buckeyes he performed extremely well.

Tate is a hell of a football player and I like him but he’s way too stuck up and entitled, he’s afraid of competition and wants a starting job handed to him. Interesting to see what he does next, since the QB1 is a freshman Tate likely won’t see a ton of time unless he gets injured or plays poorly. I wonder if he will transfer again but he would surely have to sit out a year if he did that. He’s a fun player to watch I hope we get to see him on the field sooner than later.

Martell should keep his head down and keep working. I’m sure he will get playing time this year - I doubt the qb that Miami chose to be the starter is going to come out and be the next Trevor Lawrence.

I agree with the others that posted on him - he needs some adversity as it develops character. Stop running from problems and face them.

Thanks for the head's up Shadowlight....Hartlaub & WR Dan Chisena the Fastest players at Penn State....put them on the field!

That looks like what Tate Martell is doing Leonardfan...manning up & stay the course! Making the move to WR. Just when i thought the U. wouldn't see another white WR for another decade or more after Braxton Barrios departed for the NFL

Tate Martell to reportedly consider switching to wide receiver for Miami
https://sports.yahoo.com/miami-tate-martell-switch-to-wide-receiver-015633508.html

Although Martell doesn’t have experience at WR, he has the athleticism to potentially pull it off. He ran a 3.96 second 20-yard shuttle before signing with Ohio State, which was 0.14 seconds off the best time for his class among dual-threat quarterbacks. His 36.8-inch vertical leap was also near the top of his class.

WR might be the best move for Martell, he’d have a chance to play it in the NFL since he’s such a big name and has great athleticism. He’s the perfect size too, maybe even add returning duties to his resume.

PFF released their preseason all-Americans and between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team the 6 linebackers are all white except for Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons. David Woodward (Utah State) is 1st team, Joe Bachie (Michigan State) and Evan Weaver (Cal) are 2nd team, Nate Landman (Colorado) and Cale Garrett (Mizzou) are 3rd team. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me!

Boise State true freshman RB Keegan Duncan has left the team and is in the transfer portal... could he be upset about depth chart place or maybe a position change? Interesting to see how this shakes out and where he ends up. He’s not your traditional freshman RB size at 6’3” 220lbs.
