Class of 2027

The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) has seven classifications for high school football. Thomas Jefferson is a suburban Pittsburgh high school that is playing 5A this coming season, the second largest classification based on enrollment size and competitive success.

T-J's star running back is Tyler Eber. He led the WPIAL in rushing as a sophomore with 420 carries for 2,276 yards and 30 TDs. He followed that up last year with 318/1,849 and 31 TDs. He's 5' 11" and 190 lbs. and undoubtedly will continue to fill in his frame. Thomas Jefferson won the WPIAL championship his sophomore year and lost in the semifinals last year.

You probably know where this is going. A dominant, mostly White suburban high school team is championship caliber, but its star players at the verboten positions are not wanted at the next level. If Eber was black he would have his pick of FBS programs. But to quote from an article about Eber, "I'm definitely underrated in the collegiate coaches' eyes, but I love the chip on my shoulder of people doubting me. I've mainly been getting attention from Ivy League and Patriot League schools. Where I end up, I'm going to prove that the schools that passed me up were wrong."

I've posted several times about Pine-Richland High School, another prominent suburban Pittsburgh high school football team that has won state championships yet its White running backs, receivers, and most defensive players are stymied from starring at the next level. Pennsylvania has a wealth of White high school football talent, yet with few exceptions only some o-linemen, tight ends and QBs are "allowed" to develop at FBS schools unless they go the walk-on route.

Thanks for this glimpse into high school football. I joined this site 20 years ago and the story never changes. The quote you provided which I bolded has been repeated in so many words for decades by deserving White athletes. It's safe to say high school football coaches are a huge problem with the caste system as well.

I certainly hope this young man defies the odds but the awareness of the caste system and advocacy for talented White athletes has a long way to go. Just like every other type of anti-White discrimination, that facing White athletes in recruiting is systemic. I still remain hopeful that as White people continue to wake up to the 60+ year race war they will start realizing sports is not a meritocracy but at this point it is a humiliation ritual and way to humiliate and denigrate White males.
