Badgers land Athlete John Torchio from California. Unfortunately he’s a walk on. He turned down scholarship offers from Cal,SaN Diego St, and San Jose St amongst others. Would have personally liked to have seen him sign with Cal.

Badgers already pretty deep at Safety and signed 2 afflete safeties (one named Rachad Wildgoose Jr, judging by his name he’s borderline retarded or at least his single mom is)as well for 18 class.

I agree. Don't know why he passed up a free ride at Cal to walk-on at Wisconsin. He lives in California. His parents must be loaded.

A pretty dark 2018 class overall. Many close to being all-black. FSU was all-black and OU with only a White QB. Many others like OU except for maybe a TE or a couple of OL.

Trending (Much) Darker
K-State
Central Mich
Western Mich
Stanford
Arizona

Trending Lighter
Cal (much lighter)
UCLA
Iowa St
Oregon State
Cincinnati

Stanford with a White CB in their class, though. Rice as well.

They must be! Apparently his older sister plays on the woman's soccer team in Madison so i suppose theres some connection. But dang turning down a scholarship offer to Cal Berkeley?! That'd be hard to do. Plus as you've mentioned they've been trending lighter.

Hopefully some of those mainstays that are trending darker can have a more pale face friendly class in their 19 recruiting.

Frost is an early disappointment. I know he just arrived but I'm sure he lured many non-whites to the cornhuskers. His 4.79 40 black quarterback is the biggest disappointment. It sounds like frost handpicked him as the starting qb.

4.79 40 and the kid is skinny, some dual threat. Mexi/black mix becoming more common out west and in Texas.

Just a little bored so I started checking out the 2018 recruiting classes on 247. I am assuming they are current.

Some trends/teams I have seen
Boston College recruited two white QBs, 3 white LBs, 1 DT, 1 SAF, 3 OL and a TE - Not a bad haul for a team that was trending the wrong way.

Cincinatti - 1 QB, 1 ATH, 2 TEs, 2 DEs, 1 LB

Houston is actually whitening up some - 3 OL, 1 QB, 1 WR, 1 SAF, 1 TE

CB Riley Moss signed with Iowa.

Kansas and Maryland are absolute jokes as are many of the Big 12 teams who continue to attract supposed NFL talent while their defenses get exposed week in and week out.

Looks like Notre Dame might have finally find a real QB - Phil Jurkovec

The MAC is going downhill fast - no use for the white athletes overlooked by the Big Ten anymore - just import blacks from FL, Texas and CA. Sad to see as it was a pretty fun conference.

Washington Huskies are going to have way too many highly regarded QBs once Eason transfers from UGA. Another back log of quality QBs just like Michigan.

I don't think I saw more than 10 total white DBs.

I agree. Nebraska will probably look like Ohio State with maybe one or two more White starters. I think there are more black coaches than White coaches on the team as well, so the players "can relate" to them and the coaches can "mentor" (read: be a father figure) to the players. Frost also lost out on a Poly QB that everyone else was recruiting as a LB. He signed with Oregon State as LB, much to the chagrin of Nebraska DWFs.

He has signed on tons of in-state White walk-ons though that former head coach Riley wouldn't touch (or visit) at all, so maybe in a few years it will improve and some of them will "earn" a scholarship as well. I've read that he's going after '19 QB Max Duggan hard, though, and 247 expects him to sign with Nebraska. I'm not so sure about that. QB Vedral will be an option in 2019 as well after he sits out a year.

dolphins15 first mentioned him, and rockybleier provided a later update, but i wanted to follow up on a speedster who committed to Air Force.

Carter Kuehl is the first running back out of the state of Idaho to sign with a Division One school in nearly a decade (the last one was of a darker hue, as well, "obviously"). the first-team all-state tailback was also the fastest person in the state in both the 100- and 200-meters, stopping the clock with personal-bests of 10.65 and 21.45 respectively. with game-breaking speed like that, he's certainly someone to keep an eye out for.

I am really ready to root for the Washington Huskies and Washington State this upcoming season. Junior rb Sean McGrew should finally get the carries he deserves though admittedly he is playing behind two very talented backs. Incoming freshman wr Austin Osborne is going to light it up for years to come. He may be a combo of Jordy Nelson/ Todd Kinchen ability.
I really wanted to reply to this thread because of incoming W. State rb, Max Borghi. This kid is the real deal. It is nice to see some people already calling him the next Christian McCaffrey. I have never seen a rb at any level hit the hole or accelerate the way he does. I would say if the pieces fall into the place he will be on a Heisman watch list by his sophomore season. Let us hope. The kid is fantastic just not very big.

Good news on Max Borghi as he looks to have hit the 200 pound mark and he does run track with a pb of 10.8 in the 100 meters. He does not have that head shake McCaffrey frequently utilizes but he is even slightly quicker in his cuts much like Dalton Crossan. As WSU has a terrible rushing attack I would hope this kid plays early and often this year. There is no reason I can see for him to be red shirted with the lack of rb talent on the current squad.

I really hope Coleton Beck gets a chance to play. He ran a blistering 10.37 100M time at the Blacksburg Invitational. The 4th fastest time ever recorded in the State of Virginia.
