Today is a great day to be a Dolphin fan. Caste-ian GM Jeff Ireland has finally been s***canned. This is a team that under his tenure only starts 4 whites and was part of a purge to ethnically cleanse the team of its melanin challenged talent (Long, Fasano, etc..) Lets hope the Fins get a more white-friendly GM that can restore the glory days of the 70's. From what I've heard is, he was butting heads with head coach Joe Philbin because Philbin felt his players simply weren't good enough (when you have a draft that is coal black, this will tend to happen) I think Philbin has the potential to be a good coach. I'd like to see how he could do with a team that looks more like the Packers and less like the Steelers.

RGT,
I heard this story on sports talk radio late last night.. & the first thing I thought of, was your old JefFIREland avatar.

One of the great AFC franchises, on the verge of shambles off & on for years now. I guess we'll see if they can upgrade.

There are rumors capologist Dawn Aponte might be promoted to GM. I reeeeeeeally hope this doesn't happen. This would be a PC hire of the nth degree. Of course the Dolphins would be considered "pioneers" for appointing the first female GM. Personally, if she were to be appointed, I'd rather it be in a CEO type position where she has no say on player personnel.

I for one look forward to the Patriots continued dominance of the AFC East.

It looks like the GM search is pretty much focusing only on blacks/minorities.

Another strong possibility is Ray Farmer from the Browns organization. Farmer is black but I really wouldn't have a problem with that as long as he was objective in player personnel matters. Sometimes blacks tend to be less caste-ian due to the fact that they don't have to worry about being called racists. If he is hired, I hope he is more objective and not some black supremacist type like Shack Harris of Jacksonville was. I'm still holding out hope for Tom Gamble of the Eagles as the Eagles have put together a pretty white-friendly roster.
