I was considering starting a thread where we all replied with our number one favorite player for the 2020 season. Based on responses I would choose the 10 most popular favorites and then make a follow up post with a poll so we can vote from the 10 most popular picks.

After we vote on the 10 players, whoever wins the popular vote would be caste footballs top player for the 2020 season based solely on who’s the personal favorite with the most votes weather it be the suspected pick (McCaffrey, Nick Bosa, etc) or even a popular sleeper.

would you guys be interested in doing this, or maybe it’s been done before? Regardless I think it would be fun to see who our consensus favorite player is.

1. I would start with this post to see if mods/community approves

2. make thread for writing in your favorite players

3. Make final thread where we vote on the top 10 to see who’s crowned the most popular

Tough chore this. You just feel guilty leaving people out. Hard to narrow down to ten. How could I leave out the great T.J. Watt? But you have to leave players out. Sometimes it was an either /or like I could have replaced Troy Apke with Jeff Heath. Then again Jeff played fetch on special teams last night and besides I figured I better throw in Apke's name because he may not be around next year in case we do this poll again. As for full time quarterbacks my favorite is Daniel Jones followed by Josh Allen. And the question asked for favorite players not necessarily the best which is why I have a player on my list who hasn't even taken a snap yet. I could have easily thrown in a half dozen more wide receivers but I didn't want to be too obvious. So I tried to give it a varied look. That being said my number one man is rather obvious. Ha.

1. Andy Isabella
2.Adam Thielen
3.Taysom Hill
4.Travis Kelce
5.Joey Bosa
6.Christian McCaffrey
7.Tanner Muse
8.Joe Schobert
9.Troy Apke
10. Scotty Miller

I hope more members post their lists. It would be very interesting to see who comes out on top.

1. Christian McCaffrey - best running back in league
2. JJ Watt - 1st Ballot HOF; would like to see a few more dominant seasons. Off to good start
3. Adam Thielen - top 5 receiver in league; need Cousins to step up for him
4. Cooper Krupp - all the talent to lead the league in receiving; curiously ignored all to often
5. Rex Burkhead - I’m a big fan, have been since Nebraska; needs more carries. Predicting almost 1,000 yds from scrimmage this year. I think he will ball the rest of the year. Predict Michel gets hurts soon.
6. Julian Edelman - toughest SOB in league; routinely clowns DB’s; like his attitude and grit.
7. TJ Watt - following in big brother’s steps; I see another all-pro season.
8. Joey Bosa - my Defensive Player of Year choice; I see 18 sacks this year.
9. Joe Schobert- one of the best in the league. Great player!
10. Taysom Hill - he has all the tools to be as good or better than L Jackson - but will he ever get a chance bc he is white? Most exciting player in league.

Many others I could have put in but only so many spaces.

I just want to interject how fun it is to read these lists. Everybody has an awesome list with no exceptions.

Now most newer members who have popped in the past year or two show up for a spell and then exit. And some posts while sharp get lost in the slipstream of the threads. But I just recently realized one of our newer members, Warhawk_46, knows his football. Holy cow I'll say! Lets face it. This site isn't some dumbass lark with a bunch of members sounding off. We have some extremely knowledgeable people here at CF.

I’m going to follow the lead of icsept and Extra Point and list the players I am excited to watch or check the boxscore for. Some of these guys tend to be perennial staples of my fantasy teams.

1. Christian McCaffery
2. Cooper Kupp
3. Adam Thielen
4. Josh Allen
5. Joe Schobert
6. Taysom Hill
7. George Kittle
8. Tom Brady
9. Ryan Tannehill
10. Sam Hubbard

Honorable mentions: Gardner Minshew, TJ Watt, Joey Bosa, Zach Ertz and Chase Winovich

PS and edit to add: I realize I didn’t list my own avatar, Harrison Smith. I think it’s a testament to his consistent excellence that I now longer excitedly check the boxscore for him. I know he’s going to do just fine. If I had more of an all time list of active players he’d be there for sure.

EP, I love how you are the Founder, the president, the treasurer, etc of the Justin Zimmer Fan Club! You’ve done more to promote his career than probably anyone. Keep it up. He got a decent numbers of snaps week 1 and then none in week 2. I really hope Buffalo can find a way to work him into their rotation on a permanent basis.

These are guys I’ve changed the channel for....
If Nall and Laird were carrying the football, they’d be on the list....
Looking up at the other lists is awesome , so many guys to root for.....
Lots of talent...,,We could do a college one also.....
Aside from the running backs this weekend I’m really looking forward to watch Plumlee.
And how many carries TJ McDaniel gets.....

Kudos to you jacque for such a great and fun idea. If I were you I would keep the poll open until October. The more the merrier I say. I can't argue with any of the lists either. I've got an idea who will land on top but the other nine will be sort of a cliffhanger.

Juszczyk- now there is a guy who should be getting 5 carries and 5-6 targets each game. Extremely talented!

Hard to narrow it down to 10. C-Mac is #1 for sure, THE caste-buster of this generation. Kupp is the #1 WR for me, especially with his new contract. Allen and Burrow are the best of the new generation of White QBs. I love lunch pailers on defense so a big focus on that.

To jacque,

The winner of the inaugural Caste Football Popularity Poll is rather obvious. As for the rest of the Top Ten I am a bit curious to see how it would play out. Weren't you going to cholate the results and spit out the top ten?

yep I think the number 1 spot is obvious but the top 10 pull should still be fun. Looking back it was recommended I run the pull till early October, but I misread it as THROUGH october, my bad haha. I’ll be making that top 10 pull tonite.
