This fight should be epic. Word and Youtube is that Jr has gotten himself into tremendous condition. Also, he has the great Nacho Biristain as his coach.

One of the reasons I post this is because of Canelo, he chickens out against GGG and wanted a catch weight. He then said that he was not a middleweight. Now, he signed to fight Jr at 164 lbs! What a fraud. He believes that Jr is an easy payday and mark.

Yes, Canelo has skills and I like him. But he bit off more than he thought. I believe Jr has learned his lessons. He will be in supreme condition. He will fight Canelo at a distance using his jab and bombing him with his rights to wear him down. This will be a life and death struggle for both. They will never be the same no matter who wins.

I am pulling for the underdog Jr. Canelo should have fought GGG for the Undisputed Middle Weight title a year ago, instead of waiting for him to get old. Can not wait for Saturday.

Usually class and skill beat pure strength.

So I see Canelo cutting down Jr at some point in the middle to late rounds. Jr has been monkeying around with his body for years with narcotics, booze and yo-yo dieting. This could weaken him as he comes into the fight at weight he hasn't fought at for years.

If Canelo struggles I see a few potential foils to GGG being offered better contracts to fight Canelo at 160 so that the inevitable clash get delayed into 18'.

WIR, he will not be coming down to 160 lbs, where he almost KO'd Maravilla Martinez in the 12th round. This fight will be at 164 lbs. Kinda wondering why Canelo did not force Jr to come in at 160 lbs. Big mistake. Jr will be coming into the ring close to 180 lbs on fight night, lean and fast for him. A monster.

Jr at 165.4 this morning.

Both 164 lbs at the weigh in. Jr is under the contracted weight. It should be explosive as long as it lasts.

Chavez looked fit, relaxed and energetic at the weigh in. Canelo also looks to be in great shape. This could truly be a great fight. I'm looking forward to seeing Lemieux and Matthysse on the undercard as well.

Yes, great under card.

Canelo has the physic of a prime Mike Tyson. Jr looks a bit better than a scarecrow. Jr against Sergio Martinez in 2012 looked like a complete skeleton during the weigh in. He will hydrate up to 185 lbs tomorrow and look almost completely different.

C.Jr. doesn't handle movement very well, but Canelo doesn't move. C.Jr. is the bigger man, he wants a slug fest in hopes that he can get Canelo down late. He'll get his slug fest, but Canelo will likely endure this. Golden Boy's are waiting to see if Canelo can handle C.Jr. convincingly, if he does, he'll fight GGG; if he only scrapes by a decision through this scrap, he'll pass on GGG.

Yes if he struggles or shockingly loses the GGG fight will be off. I think this is why Lemieux is on the under card as he is a backup plan for Golden Boy.

PS if Jr. can pull off the huge upset I suspect GGG will have no problem facing Jr. at 164 as he always wanted this fight at this weight but Jr. and his team ducked this fight because the purse wasn't worth the Herculian effort of Jr making weight for the purse, but with the A side purse I could see team Jr pushing tor this fight or a rematch of course.

GGG will not fight Jr at 164 lbs. It has to be at 160 lbs for the Middleweight title. If Jr wins and can get down to 160 lbs it's a go and huge fight. But if he can't, then it's off to England to destroy that fraud, Saunders.

There is a Youtube video of Jr and GGG sparring that happened several years ago. GGG toyed with him.

Don't really understand why Lemieux contracted at 163 lbs. Hopefully, he won't get surprised like he did against Rubio 5 years ago. He looks soft here, but I suspect he thinks he can bomb out his opponent with ease. He should be looking like Canelo at all of his fights. Kinda disappointing.

Good card here. Don't know what's at stake for either other than the winner will be the new king of Mexico.

More cash down the line of course too.

The winner has the consequence of fighting GGG. No more BS from Canelo if he wins. If Jr pulls the upset, big money fight for him at 160 lbs against GGG. I believe GGG beats both.

Odds have switched in Jr's favor. 4 to 1 Canelo, it was 6 1/2 to 1 Canelo a couple of days ago. And just saw him walking into the arena. He no longer looks like Skelator.

Lucas is up now.

Lucas looking strong against a poor man's Pernell Whitaker. He should end it soon.

Lucas, with the KO, back on track.

Lemieux up next.

I'm kind of pulling for Chavez Jr., if for no other reason than he's the underdog, and also if he fought GGG, GGG would murder him. A Chavez Jr. victory, or at least if he goes to the finish and gives a good account of himself, would diminish Alvarez's reputation and derail his hype a little bit. At any rate I hope whatever happens in this fight benefits Golovkin in some way.

Lemieux went 10 rounds with a C level fighter with the greatest chin I have ever saw. Pretty sure if the weight was 160 lbs rather than the 163 lbs, Lemieux would have KO'd his opponent. But he got 10 rds in without fading. Good workout.

Lemieux just chewed up and pounded his opponent who looked like he outweighed Lemieux by 30 lbs. A wide UD for Lemieux. The limey **** on Showbox didn't have much praise for Lemieux nor did they admit the size difference.
