Mike Haas of Oregon State reminds me of a younger,faster Brandon Stokley.They even look alike.Haas will be the real deal on Sundays just like Brandon in the years to come.

Stokley apparently was benched yesterday. I can't find anything about him being injured, and I never saw him in the game. What's that about? Stokley doesn't play, Bennett gets 20 yards receiving, and Matt Jones remains a minor part of a lousy Jax offense. . .
Yup, I watched the Jacksonville game yesterday to see Matt Jones
play. Unfortunaley (but not a suprise), Matt was used for
blocking and had all of two lousy passes chucked his way.
Leftoever should have been on the bench and Jones should be playing
quarterback on that team, what a waste of talent. Jack Del Rio
sucks the bag and is no doubt a schill for the Caste system.

What sucks for Matt is that the whole Jags team blows, but its not going go down that way for him and his reputation. No one is going to notice the Jags aren't any good. Matt Jones is going to take plenty of hits for not being more productive, and end up being blamed as a major contributor to the Jags poor play. I'm afraid he's going to end up further down on the bench and out of football within 2-3 years, like all the rest of the best white WR we've had in the NFL.
No one can blame you for your cynicism, WS. The NFL is a pretty depressing situation. Hopefully- hope being the key word- Jones will be at least partially insulated by being a first round pick, and his freakish combo of size and athleticism (even the athleticism without the size would've been quite formidable.)
And let's not forget that he is changing positions. It may be two or three years before we really see how his career will pan out. It could be a very frustrating wait.

The Colts had Dallas Clark lined up as a receiver on a fair amount of plays. He basically replaced Stokley.
One reason Manning was throwing a lot more was because the wide receivers were reportedly "grumbling" at their lack of TD catches. It's pretty easy to figure who was doing the "grumbling" and it wasn't Peyton's good friend Stokley, but who knows exactly why he was taken out of the offense for this game. If it happens again this week then you know he's getting royally screwed.

Good one spooge! Your about right though. Stokley always makes cool cathes and when they are needed.
Stokley went back to his regular role in yesterday's game and was the second leading receiver on the Colts with 6/59. He hasn't scored yet, but the Colts have really changed their offense this season to ball control -- more runs and short passes to go with their suddenly great defense.
This week's issue of The Sporting News has a photo of Stokley with the headline at the top of the picture that says "Indy needs more from Stokley" and the following caption:
"The Colts must use more three-receiver sets to make better use of WR Brandon Stokley. The team used a lot of two-tight end formations last season, which helped the running game but kept Stokley -- and his big-play ability -- on the sideline. Indianapolis has a lot of money invested in Stokley, and it should let him earn his paycheck."
The picture TSN uses of Stokley is one where he is standing with his arms out and it looks like he is sending the message, "Why aren't you throwing me the *^&$ ball?" With Edgerrin James gone to Arizona, maybe, just maybe, Stokley will be used prominently again this season like he was in 2004.

Stokely is deserving of way more playing time. He's fast and unafraid of being hit, a great combination of skill and courage!

I really want to see Stokley have another huge year.He might have a little more of a chance with the Colts not having a dominant running game anymore.I still wish they could have let R.Wayne go and Stokley would have been the number 2 receiver.Oh well.Good luck to him.
