PREDICTION: The Colts use Stokley sparingly the remainder of the season, as not to anger their black recievers, but come playoff time, when there butts are on the line and stats dont count, they will be more eager to use him. He will have a big showing in the playoffs. Its becoming a trend with white recievers recently.

be too much of a b*tch. And Wayne's been playing
well, so hopefully he'll keep his mouth shut and just

Again I will state that he needs to demand the ball the same way that they do.There are times in games where he
won't get a pass thrown to him for a whole half.That is
insane.Brandon needs to speak up for himself more because
he has proven he is better than Harrison & Wayne.Why do
I say this?Because he is a part time 3rd receiver who
doesn't get as much playing time but still will probably
lead the Colts in receiving.Way to go Stokely!

I agree.I think it is pretty sad that players have to whine and bitch when they aren't getting a fair shake, but thats what it has come down to. The loudest, most arrogant players are always the ones treated with the most respect. Keep in mind though that white players who speak up for themselves usually get ignored ie Shockey, Alstot, Jurivicious. I can only hope things will change for the better.

On the official NFL injury report that came out today, Stokley is listed as questionable with a thigh injury, which means as of now a 50 percent chance of playing against Baltimore Sunday night.

I root for him not just for the obvious reasons, but also because he's a key player on three fantasy football teams that have second round playoff games this week. Those teams will be considerably weaker without Brandon in the lineup.

CBS is reporting that the Colts and Stokley have agreed on a five-year contract extension. Don't know the value, but even if he was underpaid, this is the best possible outcome from a Caste Football perspective. Brandon will continue to play with the best quarterback in football, who is also a good friend. Barring unforeseen health problems, Stokley should remain a star for years to come.

That is really great news for Stokley.What this also tells me is that when Waynes contract is up,they may not
be able to afford to keep him but they realize that Brandon is a star receiver who can easily be the number 1 or 2 receiver and play every down.By the way,Brandon practiced with the team Friday and he will play on Sunday Night on national tv.Should be a good game and I would love to see Manning break the td record with a pass to his good friend Stokley.Go Colts!

I think it would be great for the TD pass that breaks the Marino's TD Record be to Stokley. He would also be showing up the team that didnt give him a chance to be a star even tho he was and still is better then any WR they have. Also I have just found out that if Stokley gets 64 yards this game he will have 1000 for the season. So first Drew Bennett for the Titans and now Stokley would be 2 white WRs with 1000 yards on the season... I think this tells us that maybe some teams are opening their eyes and seeing that white guys can play WR as good and even better then alot of Black WRS. Hey Guys maybe the NFL is coming around to the truth that white guys can play WR. Also Guys im glad to see that Stokley will be wearing Colts blue for 5 more years.Edited by: caste_System87

I agree with you cxt7.Do any of you guys know why Brad Pyatt hasn't played in around a month.He's not hurt,I
guess they just don't think he's good enough.I enjoy
watching him return kicks and I would love to see him
get to play some wide receiver.Should be a great game tonight.I can't wait to see Manning get the record and Stokley go over 1000 yards receiving. What a combonation!

Maybe a hats off are in order to Colt's president, Bill Polian, for the Stokley deal. As a general observation, I've noticed he seems to be White friendly. During his Buffalo years the Bills had Don Beebe and Steve Tasker, Tasker being known more his special teams wizardry than receiving.


If I remember correctly, anyone jump in if they feel differently, when Polian was with Carolina they were one of the Whiter teams at the time.

A: He's very much on the roster. He had a deep thigh bruise that bothered him for quite some time. We needed him very badly during the midpoint of the season. He came back and he tried to play with it, but he wasn't the same â€â€￾ as most players are not when they're injured. He had lost a lot of the explosion that makes him such a great kick returner. He's back and healthy now. He's certainly benefited from practicing every week. His receiving skills are getting better and better. He's going to become a very good receiver before it's all over. He benefits, of course, from working with Reggie and Marvin and Brandon Stokley. We discussed Monday, as a matter of fact, the fact that we need to get him back in there. We need his explosiveness in the kicking game. We're hopeful that when we get (safety) Bob Sanders back and when we get the roster back going, that hopefully Brad can be back in there. He's a valuable guy for us.

Playing Pyatt would be against the official nfl rules as no team is allowed to play two white wide recievers at one time. It would cost the offending team three first round draft picks and mandatory diversity training. Mr. Hockles, an insiteful prediction. Seems to be the trend to not use whitty unless you absolutely have to. I think of stokely's late season/playoff of last year, the use of jurevicuis in tampa bay's superbowl year, and proehl for the panthers and rams. When the colts have had large leads in the second half if noticed that this garbage time is usually used to pad harrison's stats and stokley is little used.

Quiet Speed, good post. You're right about Polian. Very few people realize that when the Bills were going to the Super Bowl four years in a row they were also the whitest team in the NFL, with a half-white, half-black roster. Subconscious contempt for those Bills teams because of all their white players may account in part for the near unanimous hatred of them by white fans. My main problem with Polian/Levy et.al was that Beebe was only a part-time player and Tasker wasn't used at all as a receiver, and a bull like FB Jamie Mueller wasn't allowed to touch the ball much. But that's the NFL for you. Within its racial parameters, Polian's teams are consistently a notch above others most of the time.

Hey guys the Titans use 2 white WRs everynow and then. They have Bennett and Burlin(i think thats how you spell his name) listed as the #2 and #3 WRs. Bennett plays everydown and Burlin plays like every 3rd and long down.

Eddie Berlin is agreattalent runs a 4.48 40 yard dash played college in northern iowa a division 2 school had 74 rec for 1200 yrds senior season there and was drafted by the titans in the 5th round in 2001. Kurt warner and mike furrey are both from northern iowa.

I just thought I would see if anyone agrees with how Deion Sanders was covering Stokley in the game on Sunday.
He was called for several pass interference penalties but
should have had alot more.Deion was mugging Brandon almost every play.It was like there was no way in hell that a white boy was going to beat him short or especially deep.Even other guys helped out in taking some
cheap shots here and there after the play even when the
ball was no where in his area.I really wish that Brandon
could have had a better game but between what was going
on & not many passes thrown his way,there was not much
he could do.

Kaptain Poop's post about playing two wide recievers who are white at the same time brought back a memory from 1984.Dallas Cowboy WRTony Hill got hurt in the opening game that season so for the next five games the Cows had a starting pass-catching group of WR'S Doug Donley and Mike Renfro and TE Doug Cosbie.All white.Does anybody know if that has happened since?Speaking of Doug Donley,who has been mentioned on this board before,has to be the biggest dissapointment for me as Cowboy fan.He had it all,speed good route-running and good hands.He ran the fastest 40 for the Cow in 1983,faster than Tony Dorsett,and that is saying something.He could flat-out fly.None of that sneaky bull here.But the problem was he could not stay healthy.Real shame.

I remember Doug Donley. Yes very fast player. Kind of awkward and a bit shaky at timesbut for sure he was a trrific runner and very exciting.. Maybe should have been a baseball player--if I recall he was not very large albeit not tiny either. By the way Mike Renfro's son Clint plays wideout for number one HS team Southlake Carroll. He is a junior and runs like a deer---4.3 speed.

Ray Renfro, father of Mike and grandfather of Clint, played WR for the Cleveland Browns 1952-63. Ray Renfro was considered the fastest WR in Pro Football during the 1950's. Mike wasn't as fast as his father, though a very good receiver.

Some may recall the key play of the AFC championship game rematch between Houston and Pittsburgh following the '79 season. The game turned in Pittsburgh's favor when a Houston touchdown catch was called no good. Television replays showed that it was a reception, but that was long before the introduction of instant replay. Mike Renfro was the Oilers receiver who was robbed that day, and the Steelers went on to win their fourth Super Bowl in six years.

Mike then went on to play for Dallas.

What a game by Brandon Stokley with 7 catches for 123 yards and the NFL Record Breaking 49th TD Pass from the
best qb in the nfl,Peyton Manning.The Colts now are the
only team to have 3 different receivers go over 10 td's
each.Brandon now has almost 1100 yards on the year.Way
to go Stokley.I'm so glad he caught the record pass!
