I think you hit on the root of it here. Good post.Yes, there is no risk for a scout in this situation. Once you recommend an afflete based on "upside," you have immediately transferred the burden onto the coaching staff. It will be simply understood by the media and the DWFs that the "upside" exists and that it is the coaches failure if he fails to capitalize on it.
That's why imaginary traits constitute the favored platitudes heaped on blacks, you literally can't be wrong as long as long as society collectively agrees to believe in them.
After another lousy week for the black NFL quarterbacks, the Power's That Be can't be feeling to good about things.
RG3-13 (his record from last season) continues to be the king of putting up meaningless "good stats" in a losing effort. Over his 2 starts this year, he's got around a 95 quarterback rating. Yet he's lost both games and only thrown 1 touchdown. His high percentage, short yardage completions are merely stat padding fluff. He's a loser. I'll take a gun-slinger like Cousins, who makes some mistakes, but takes chances to win the game, over Gremlin any day. RGscreen is now 3-15 since being anointed a star after his rookie year.
Maybe the best development is the regression of Russell Wilson. Ever since the Harvin trade and all the "not black enough" reports started surfacing, Wilson and the Seahawks have looked terrible. Wilson is now the least dynamic passing quarterback starting in the NFL. His 209 yards per game are dead last in the NFL for starters who qualify. The game-manager extraordinaire, has orchestrated a measly 3 touchdown throws over his last 4 games. When thinking about great QBs like Brady, Roethlisberger, Manning and Brees, that statistic is laugh out loud hilarious. Can anyone seriously call Wilson "elite" without busting out laughing?
Scam's follies from Thursday have already been covered but it's worth noting that he ranks 27th in QB rating, 27th in touchdowns thrown and 24th in yards per game. Don't worry though, he's 5th in sacks taken. The dunce should be benched for Derek Anderson if one goes by the standard of Cousins (superior stats to Scam) and Washington.
Kaepernick did something stupid and lost another winnable game against a mediocre team. However, I'm going to declare him the best black (?) quarterback currently in the NFL! At least that's what the stats say. Now out of all the QBs he's approximately the 15th best. He's basically the least bad of a bad group this year.
Bridgewater, Vick and Geno's performances speak for themselves. This season has been an unmitigated disaster for the black quarterback push.
So the question will become, are the Jets foolish enough to draft another black quarterback like Jameez? Or will they draft or sign a White guy?The New York Daily News' Seth Walder believes Geno Smith's Jets days "look to be just about over."
Walder thinks Smith's chances of sticking around into 2015 are slim if GM John Idzik keeps his job, and even slimmer if Idzik gets canned. Smith had a long leash -- in today's NFL -- as Gang Green's starter, but amassed a disgusting 19:31 TD:INT ratio across 24 starts. The Jets were 9-15 in those games.

Greg Bedard of SI has written a very good article critiquing Colin Kaepernick. I like this guy Bedard, known as the “Wet Blanket of Reason†for his "long history of tempering rabid fan enthusiasm with cold, hard, irrefutable facts". It's a worthwhile read.

“I don’t believe he’s a starter in the NFL,” Hasselbeck said. “I believe that Teddy Bridgewater – and this isn’t meant to be a shot on him, I was a backup quarterback — I think he’s a good backup quarterback. I think he’d have a nice long career as a backup.”
What particular trait does Bridgewater possess that makes him an NFL starter? Not big, not fast, no big arm, not accurate, doesn't protect the ball. At least guys like Kaepernick, Russell and Cam have some obvious physical tools. Hell, even Geno and Jamarcus had the huge arms to impress a GM. Name one thing Bridgewater does well. Not sure if this has popped up at Rotoworld or other sites poster here at CF don't like much, but ESPN's Tim Hasselbeck recently started a small firestorm up in Minnesota with these comments, which I do not disagree with at all:
Full Star Tribune article, with great comments from Amused83, battling many DWF's who can't believe little Teddy might not be the "super hero" they wished for.

BTY, just another observation regarding Bridgewater. I've noticed in recent weeks Greg Jennings and Extension Cord (or whatever his name is?) Patterson have gotten the "Welker, Hartline treatment" from Teddy. Basically, they've been "phased out", as Teddy has fixated on some 7th round, practice squad scrub named Charles from Grand Valley State with a bizarre 'fro, who's been cut by several teams in less than a year.
Jennings, who was signed for huge money, is projected to gain only 729 yards this season and Patterson will be lucky to gain 500 yards, at this pace. If this continues, expect some locker room friction, especially among the receivers. Jennings and Patterson were both expected to be Pro Bowl caliber receiver and right now they are basically putting up stats comparable to some 4th receivers on better teams.
And in other news the sun came up in the east today.
Former NFL GM and current ESPN analyst Bill Polian believes "what we’re seeing this year is the incredible erosion of the running quarterback." NFL.com draft guru Gil Brandt agrees, saying "I think we’re slowly, slowly going back to the age of pocket quarterbacks." Specifically, Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton have been two of the least-accurate quarterbacks in the league this season, and they've noticeably regressed or flatlined as passers. Both have cannons for arms, but don't display the touch and aren't making plays with their legs due to injuries or the realization by the coaching staffs that it's not worth the unnecessary hits after seeing Robert Griffin III tear up his knee in 2012 and ankle in 2014. SI's Peter King has a good read on the topic at the link below.

I just talked to some dwfs about this, they are blaming the coaches for not running the read option enough! lol the stuff worked less and less as time went on yet they say "I see no proof of it not working"Barkley also has a very high football IQ. Of course intelligence is the most taboo of all the taboo areas when it comes to mentioning the numerous ways in which White athletes are better than black ones on average.
One huge difference between the typical White qb that ran and the Black ones is that most if not all less Bobby Douglas ran as a last option unless it was in the playoffs. Virtually all of the Black ones that run have too many designed running plays because of poor passing skills and judgement in terms of who is open. Out of all of the Black running qb's the only one who hasn't been a busted up mess past 30 has been Cunningham and he basically stopped running after the huge hit he took on his knee which basically ended his career in Filthadelphia.I just talked to some dwfs about this, they are blaming the coaches for not running the read option enough! lol the stuff worked less and less as time went on yet they say "I see no proof of it not working"
so the coaches are sabotaging wins to play "the way they want" but when it comes to ignoring White talent its "the best players play" and "they play to win they aren't going to ignore talent"
I believe its injuries because Newton isnt even scrambling, and that doesnt have to be a designed run and thats the main reason why it can't work, the average career for a rb is 3.5 years. Guys like Rodgers can still run but they do it only when needed. Guys like Newton rely on it until they are injured.
