One of the real pleasures I get in life is confronting liberal white men over their notion of Muhammad Ali. They often mimic what they have heard: “He was so principled, what with standing up against the war and all. He was a dedicated civil rights leader, a real humanitarian!†Thus and so, I often hear.
Their only education on the man is from a few flattering documentaries or from the Hollywood movie “Ali†starring Will Smith—all of which are written and directed by other liberal white men. To gather anything from them would be like watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to learn the life of Gene Wilder.
The truth is Muhammad Ali was a dedicated racist, who once attended a Ku Klux Klan rally. That’s right; he rallied, joked, clapped and cheered with the same organization that had been, up to that time, killing his kind for one hundred years. How’s that for principles?
He mocked those “dumb ass niggas,†as he often referred to them, who marched for desegregation, and laughed at images of water hoses and police dogs let loose at protests. To his credit, however, he hated whites and “niggas†just the same. The only people he tolerated were black Muslims.
He humiliated and tormented Joe Frazier because of his classic ******* features. Mr. Ali constantly referred to Frazier as “the other type of negro.†He would say Frazier was “the Uncle Tom nigga.†Mr. Ali never missed a chance to refer to Frazier in public as “ugly†and “dumb Joe Frazier.†His audience, liberal white men, lapped it up and laughed at Frazier’s expense.
It’s hilariously ironic that anyone could get offended having been called dumb by the moronic Ali. It’s equally puzzling how anyone could find a moron humorous when insulting the intelligence of someone else.
Ali failed his Army entrance exam twice. That put his mental development below a sixth grade level. He could hardly spell and was a very poor reader. He lifted many of the now famous rhymes and catchy one-liners from members in his entourage. At any rate, how’s that for a civil rights leader?
Another feature not well known about Muhammad Ali was that he was a serial adulterer, and a bigamist. At thirty-two, he charmed, impregnated, and married a seventeen year old girl. At the time, Ali was married to his second wife. He seduced a beautiful eighteen-year old less than a year later while in Zaire for his fight against George Foreman. He married her, too. These were not the only young girls he seduced, and it’s rumored that he had affairs with school-aged girls during his boxing career. Whether they were younger than seventeen or not, is to be imagined. I will not withhold judgment on the matter. The rumors, I believe, are true.
While traveling Africa, he criticized the ugliness of the African women. He made fun of their features, their hair, and suggested they needed white blood to give them beauty. The men, he said, needed a good shower. How’s that for humanitarianism?
It’s at this point I usually ease off with the revelations. I don’t want to be responsible for causing any white liberal man to have a heart attack, after all. Usually I’m met with disbelief. Other times I’m accused of racism. Most of the time, however, they think I am lying. They react like any scorned lover when given news that goes against the direction of the heart.
Of all the masculine black men, in the long line of masculine black men, Muhammad Ali is, and remains, white liberal men’s first love. It is peculiar watching liberal white men take on feminine characteristics in the presence of masculine black men. Seldom, though, is the near-homoerotic behavior toward Muhammad Ali by liberal white men duplicated. Only recently, in the age of Obama, have we witnessed something similar when they blush and melt in his presence.
The iconic levels to which a scoundrel, deadbeat dad, draft-dodging black militant can be lifted is owed entirely to the influence of liberal white men. That is because liberal white men run the entertainment industry and media. There they act out their fantasies of being submissive girls under the control of masculine black man.
We get timeless classics like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Beverly Hills Cop, Cadence Man, and Django to name but a few.
Meanwhile, the white culture, under the influence of liberal white men fawns over these ebony studs, laughs at all of their jokes, and follows them around like a little sister or a blushing bridesmaid.
