The World Boxing Association has rejected a request for a rematch made on behalf of former champion, Gabriel Campillo, who lost his WBA light heavyweight title to Beibut Shumenov by a 12-round majority decision this past January 29. Shumenov will next fight official challenger Vyacheslav Uzelkov.
Ruslan Provodnikov just busted up and made tough as nails Castizo Mike Alvarado say uncle with a 2 knockdown battering for ten rounds on HBO. This guys keeps on getting underestimated because of his fan friendly aggressive style. Hopefully he can force the Bradley camp to give him a rematch. The Siberian deserves a 7 figure payday!

Since this has become the unofficial Eurasian thread Denis Shafikov fights for the IBF lightweight title. He has a look that is similar to your average Mexican so I doubt that the Russian national is an ethnic Russian. Anyway he is an under dog against his Mexican opponent....http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/10496421/stay-true-to-my-style

Adding to the Eurasian thread Kazakh native Zhanat Zhakiyanov earned a "tight" split decision win over American WBA champion Rau'shee Warren. I was making a sandwich and missed the first round where Warren dropped the action fighter twice but double ZZ dropped Warren twice and both times the referee called obvious knockdowns slips. He also let Warren hold all day and never gave a final warning for holding. So when I heard a split decision I assumed the foreign fighter was going to get jobbed.

Ps team Hatton is behind ZZ so he may fight out of England in the future. Also Warren being a bantamweight who was probably only making a little above 100K had a mini ghetto posse consisting of two flunkies. His team looked like a mini me version of Adrian Broner who was in his cheering section.....http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/zhakiyanov-dethrones-reigning-champion-warren-393255

Beibut. retired last week due to a damaged eye that was risking permanent blindness if he continued fighting. His career will probably be a big what if.

Ps, he and Denis Shafikov have a permanent link in this thread as Shafikov fights tomorrow against extremely long Robert Easter. At the weigh in they looked like they were two weight divisions apart. Shafikov will have a long night if he can't get inside against the long American fighter.........http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/easter-shafikov-make-weight-407832http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/easter-shafikov-make-weight-407832

Easter is 5'11 and fighting at 134 lbs. That is insane. I'm 5'10 180 lbs and If I was a boxer I couldn't see myself getting any lower than 160 lbs. I can't imagine this guy will be anywhere close to 134 come fight time. He has to come in at least 20 pounds heavier or he will look like an AIDS patient. I hate when fighters boil down so they can fight smaller guys.

120-108 twice for the negro. Shafekov actually won. He was the aggressor throughout against the negro who must have outweighed him by 20 pounds. Did you hear the shill announcer? He ignored Shafikovs punches and invented punches for Easter. Like I didn't see this coming in in Toledo Ohio usa in an arena filled up with negroes, some doing cannibal tribal dances in African garb. F crooked boxing. Even fightnews.com is tacitly admitting it was fake by running a poll. I usually ignored the little guys but unfortunately I watched this ********. F crooked boxing.

We might as well revive the unofficial Eurasian thread as unified 122 pound Muradjon Akhmadaliev won a wide points win on the Andrade vs Quigley card. The score cards were 119-109 for all judges the score cards seemed a shade too wide IMO but the right fighter won. His opponent was a White Chilean who looks like he could fight at the world level again and have a decent chance to win.

On the under card of Crawford vs Spence, Janibek Alimkhanuly pounded a tko victory over throughly used up Hassan N'Dam. Janibek has the look of a future champion as he can box and punch and is long and tall. I guess we will have to see him against a live body. What I don't get is two relatively unknowns fought in an eliminator after his showcase bout, but he couldn't rank higher than the fighter based out of Montreal than I never heard about before.
