Baker Mayfield deserves to be a first round draft choice in the 2018 draft. His only downside is his height. He's got everything else.

If I was a quarterback needy team I'd take him in the first.

You can't teach height and you can't teach heart . Baker has plenty of heart to go along with his natural abilities. Best deep ball in CFB in my opinion. Bout time he has his own CF thread,!

Mayfield has made a believer out of me in terms of his next level ability. If Mahomes can be a first rounder than Mayfield should have no issue being a 1st rounder. He's a great all around qb - processes his reads quickly, accurate, careful with the football, athletic. All of the questions about his size are nonsense.

Yep we all know the story on Russell Wilson whos listed at 6'0, but probably only 5'11. If his height was an issue it wasn't talked about much.
Sorry if I come off as pedantic but he's actually listed at 5'11 and he's really 5'10. If a white qb who's listed under 6' declared for the draft today he'd be laughed off the face of the earth. But hey if you're black not only can you become an NFL qb at 5'10 but you can even make it to the NBA(Tyler Ulis)

Mayfield is listed at 6'1 so he is probably right around 6 ft. Mayfield is interesting - he has the ability to be comfortable in the pocket making reads and delivering accurate passes like Drew Brees but he also has an element of escapability like Manziel. He can kill you both ways. He answered his questions about arm strength this season as far as I'm concerned. If Mahomes can be fawned about by all the "experts" while playing in the most passer friendly offense in college football and get away with improvising than Mayfield should be viewed exactly the same.

Some of Mayfield's games are available on Draft Breakdown.

To me he looks like he has a strong and accurate arm. Decent mobility. A little short.

Overall I'd take him even in the first if I needed a quarterback.

He has won the Davey O'Brien award for best QB in the country! JT Barret was somehow a finalist for this award - that is insulting.

Hopefully Mayfield will take the Heisman on Saturday breaking the streak of non-whites getting it dating back to Manziel's 2012 win.

Based on what I've seen I'd say Mayfield is worthy of the number 1 pick in the draft, in spite of his height. He probably won't go that high but he would be worth it there.

Glad that Baker won it. I've never really heard him be interviewed or speak outside of football post game interviews - seems like a really collected, calm and well thought person. There is no way he ends up being a Manziel type character "red flag" guy during the draft process. Any of that stuff will be media contrived.

Doug Flutie who is shorter and not as fast as Baker, had success in the NFL. No reason to think Baker will not.

Mayfield was a walk on despite having a successful high school career. Mayfield is the first walk on to ever win the Heisman.

ESPN has started their campaign against Mayfield. The talking heads is already talking about his throat slashing gestures and his lack of control over his emotions. They keep showing him getting arrested for dwi . They even brought up him being a walk on. I feel like they want him to ask them for forgiveness. All he needs to do is to show what he can do at the combine, hopefully ever thing will take care of it self after that.

I called that a while back. A leopard (the Caste media) isn't going to change it's spots, especially when it comes to dual-threat White QBs.

Sounds like the Tebow treatment -
Build him up in college and profit off of that before tearing him down in the NFL.
