Many have complained about The Houston Astros fielding a team that was "too White",first three hitters in the batting order tonight,Bourn,Matsui, and Tejada, the new shortstop Tejada is called "Miggy"by the Houston announcers, surely a way to endear him to Houston fans. Edited by: LabMan

The Sporting News (actually just Sporting News now as it's dropped the "The" from its name) continues its long-standing hate campaign against Craig Biggio, which is extreme even for the anti-white media. Sporting News took continual shots against Biggio during the last few years of his career, as one of the all-time great leadoff men and versatile players moved toward 3,000 career hits and baseball immortality. Here's this week's snipe: "The unsung hero in the Astros' revival has been 2B Kazuo Matsui. . . He has solidified the top of the lineup. . .But his contribution goes deeper. 'Their defense was bad, really bad,' says one NL scout. 'They have not had a good second baseman in a long time -- they were kind of stuck with (Craig) Biggio there. But this guy gets to everything'."

The old "unnamed scout" trick, ripping into Craig Biggio the wretched defensive liability. And who can blame Sporting News -- after all Biggiowonjust 4 Gold Gloves as a second baseman, and his terrible range is illustrated bythepaltry 414 bases he stole during his career, which ranks 61st all-time. Thank God Matsui has come to the Astros' rescue.

Eventually the franchise will dump all its good White players, go Mestizo and Black, and earn a moniker it used to have in the 1970s: The Lastros

I don't see how anyone can criticize the Astros when there are teams like the Mets and the Tigers. It's all about marketing and making more money. Look at all the Asians that are going to Wrigley now that they signed Fukedome.

Maybe the Astros will re-think their "new look" with the likes of Shawn Chacon physically assaulting their general manager. Notice how this article focuses on whether or not the Astros will have to pay Chacon's salary after cutting him rather than the heinous behavior itself.
<H1 =storyTitle>Astros request waivers for Chacon's unconditional release</H1>
Shawn Chacon was put on waivers Thursday by the Houston Astros, a day after he got into a physical altercation with general manager Ed Wade.

The thing that is really irritating with Chacon is that the media used his story but not anything from managements side other than the fact that Ed Wade is "known to have a temper". If you listen to Chacon's version he was quiet and respectful and was abused by Wade for no reason and had to defend himself. He paints himself as Bobby Brady from the Brady Bunch.

Of course he could be charged with assault and battery and then his contract could be terminated due to his unavailability.
