Jimmy Chitwood
Hall of Famer
Artsiom Parakhouski is a 6-11 junior center for the Radford Highlanders who i had never heard of before watching him play in the Big South Tournament yesterday.
in his first season at Radford, he won the Big South Player of the Year Award this season after averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.
why is this anything special? it is just his 5th year playing organized basketball!
that's right. the former soccer player and swimmer played only 2 years of high school basketball in Belarus before signing with junior college Southern Idaho, where he helped them go 30-2, win a SWAC title, and a #2 Ju-Co national ranking as a sophomore.
he is long, strong, and has incredibly quick feet. this guy has major upside.

another Radford player that looks good is 6-8 junior forward Joey Lynch-Flohr. he was 1st Team All-Big South after averaging 13.6 points and 5.7 rebounds while being a terrific, and versatile, defender.
