These last few days have been a kick to the gut... There are so few of our guys out there, so it always hurts to see anyone get cut. But a lot of our guys are producing, and still getting cut by teams who are in desperate need of producers... I challenge any DWF to explain some of these cuts this year..

Redskins cut Ioannidis despite glaring needs along the d-line.

Bears cut Mariani, who was extremely productive last season as a return man, and also had 300 yards receiving on only 22 catches. Instead chose to hang on to Deonte Thompson who has had a banner career thus far, with 17 receptions for 228 yards in three years.

49ers dump Devon Cajuste, despite a laughable receiving corps headlined by Quinton Patton and Jeremy Kerley.

Marcus Rush, who posted 6 preseason sacks, is apparently not good enough to join the likes of Tank Carradine and Ray Ray Armstrong in the 49er linebacking corps... just for the record, both Carradine and Armstrong are entering their 4th seasons in the league, and have a combined 5 sacks between them; they should be lights out this year at OLB....

Most NFL teams hold 6 wide receivers, yet the Detroit Lions cut Jace Billingsley, and will roll into the season with only 4, even as one of them pushes 36 years old.

Beyond Amari Cooper and Crabtree, the Raiders have nothing at wide receiver, yet that doesn't stop them from cutting Max McCaffrey.

Lorenzo Alexander, who has 30 tackles and 1 sack over the last three seasons apparently showed the Ryan brothers enough to make Kroy Biermann expendable; who over the same span has 130 tackles, and 7 sacks...

Apparently no room for Luke Rhodes in Tampa, as the Bucs decide to roll with only 5 LBs, even though almost every other 4-3 team appears to be keeping 7...

Vinnie Sunseri gets cut by the Pats; yet this is a team that plans on starting Patrick Chung at one of the safety spots...

Jets will start the year with Kellen Davis at TE after cutting promising 2nd year player Jace Amaro. Davis, who started 9 games last year after Amaro was injured, posted 18 yards and 1 TD... sounds like a winner...

IDK, maybe I just don't understand football as much as I thought......

That's a great post Upside. Good job pointing out the absurdity of some of these cuts. Winning is really not the end goal for most of these teams. They'd rather roll with proven scrubs than take a chance on productive Whites.

Complete BS! Marcus Rush is on the 49ers Practice Squad! Even the NFL.com writer is perplexed

Other WR's on the Practice Squad he mentioned
Moritz Bohringer-Vikes...not a surprise...he will develop
Daniel Braverman-Bears ...only a matter of time he will be on 53 man roster...NFL.com writer loves him

WR Jace Billingsley-Lions...what more could he have done? Ridiculous! It's ok Detroit to have two white skill players on your roster~!

Keep an eye out for
WR Ben Roberts-Titans (baseball player...only one year of football)

WR Devon Cajuste-Packers
WR Jake Kumerow-Bengals
WR Jake Lampman-Saints

RB-Dan Vitale-Bills

D-Lineman Matt Ioannidis-Redskins
LB Ben Gardner- Chargers...looked solid to me making plays

Looks like the Packers will have 22 white players on their Final Roster

Will Brian Hartline or Toby Gerhart get a call soon?? Gaffney, Wegher, etc?

Mariani signs on with Tennessee fortunately. You'd think a guy who is an extremely productive returner and a productive receiver when given a chance would keep his place on one of the worst teams in football but apparently not. Will be the starting KR and PR for the Titans and should get a fair amount of snaps at receiver, given the Titans' horrible receivers - 33 career TDs across 13 combined seasons for 4 of their 5 other receivers, with the other receiver being the 35-year old Andre Johnson.

The Titans signed up Amaro too, which is good news for their offense.

Ioannidis signed to Redskins PS.

The Redskins now have 3 White QBs, 4 White OL out of 9 OL, and 3 White LBs out of 9 LBs. Every single RB, TE, WR, DL, and DB on the depth chart is black.

I like Cousins and McCoy and I like Kerrigan, Will Compton and Trent Murphy. And the Skins are the local team here and I've always been a Skins fan. But this is the very definition of a caste team.

On the bright side, it was good to see the just cut former Redskin Logan Paulsen get signed by the Bears. I think he is on the 53 man roster, not the PS.

A smart team would snatch up Hartline and Toby. Hello New England, Indy??? Gerhart would be PERFECT for the Patriots!

The Lions added Jace Billingsley to their practice squad.

from the Detroit News:
Billingsley, another player in that receiver mix this offseason, was a preseason standout. The undrafted free agent out of Eastern Oregon led the team with 12 receptions,146 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. He also showed potential as a kick and punt returner.

Idiot FB Bruce Miller gets himself purged:

49ers released FB Bruce Miller.

The release comes after Miller's arrest at a San Francisco hotel where he allegedly beat up two strangers. One of the men was 70. Miller was intoxicated. Miller was previously arrested in 2015 on domestic violence charges. Miller is a decent lead blocker with soft hands, but the 49ers should move on relatively painlessly at fullback.

Hard to defend behavior like that. We expect more from our athletes.

You might be a DWF if you deny the Caste System exists.....

Exhibit A: Devon Cajuste
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/devon-cajuste?id=2555276

Exhibit B: Devin Funchess
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/profiles/devin-funchess?id=2552458

Similar in length and height. Cajuste has bigger hands.
Cajuste had a better 40 time, better 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle run and overall draft grade. He went undrafted. Projected as 5th-6th rounder.
Funchess was a 2nd round pick and projected as 2nd-3rd round pick. He is being groomed to start at WR for Carolina.
So what is wrong with this picture?
Based on talent and measurables alone, Cajuste should be on someone's roster right now, not PS.

I just checked his Twitter and it says he is a Green Bay Packer. Not sure if something has transpired to change that though.

John Fox teams are always among the blackest and the few Whites are always at Caste positions. Fox is a mediocre coach at best. Can't stand the damn fool.

Yeh, I'd say the waiving of Mariani and relegating Braverman to the practice squad on a team with no good receivers after their two starters qualifies as the most pathetic purge on this year's final cutdown date. As cynical as I am from watching the NFL all these years, I thought both would see a significant number of regular season snaps. Fox is a true Caste scumbag.

This sucks even though he went from Tampa to a team that would never treat him remotely fairly:

Bills waived/failed physical FB/TE Dan Vitale. They'll move forward with Glenn Gronkowski as their lone fullback.

Of the highest. He was at the helm when Tebow helped the Broncos go 7-4 in the playoffs.

Y'all are overreacting to these cuts. Don't you know Max Kellerman said sports are the only pure meritocracy.

I will always wonder what the f*ck the management of the Vikings were saying when they had the No. 1 back in the NFL , and to draft Gerhart in the 2nd round.

Lol. Don's summary of the caste system as a racial spoils system sums up professional sports and society so beautifully in three words.

Glenn Gronkowski cut today for black FB Jerome Felton. I guess Whaley had to cut whitey because it was his fault the Bills lost.

Besides Brian Hartline, 2 other former starting WRs are also unsigned - Riley Cooper and Wes Welker.
Hard to believe that no one has picked up these guys.
Toby Gerhert looked pretty terrible last year, but you would also think that someone would pick him up as a back-up.
