I'm starting this thread strictly due to curiosity of who my fellow Caste footballers hold as there all time favorites.

My List:

1. Vitali Klitschko
2. Jack Dempsey
3. Mickey Mantle
4. Joe Calzaghe
5. Peyton Manning Edited by: white lightning

Philippe Petit - Can't be beat for guts and everything else you can think of. There aren't three men alive today who would have done what he did.

Tom Iron...

I don't know who my all time favorite athlete is. Here is just a short list of my favorites though: Wayne Chrebet, Tomasz Adamek, both Klitschko's, Tom Gugliotta, Keith Van Horn, and Larry Bird.

Even though he isn't white, I gotta put Manny Pacquiao on the list. Probably the best fighter I have ever seen from Featherweight up to Welterweight. Also a classy gentlemen, devoted catholic, and he has built churches and schools for the poor in his native Philippines.

I fixed the title for you jcolec02. A good choice with Manny as he is a very classy guy who cares about his people similar to the Klitschko Brothers.

Mickey Mantle is my favorite, followed by Peyton Manning. After that, in no particular order and i'm sure there's many others if I thought about it long enough:

Babe Ruth
Ty Cobb
Randy Johnson

Wayne Gretzky
Jimmy Connors (in spite of his infantile behavior)

I don't know as much about sports as these guys, so mine's short.
Patrick Jeffers, Ed McCaffery, John Elway, Fedor.

All outstanding picks thus far.

Here are my top ten with an emphasis on the last 20 years.

1. Joe Calzaghe (Instramental in smashing the myth of Whites can't fight)

2. Larry Bird (Again instramental in looking at Whites as Superstars)

3. Manny Pacquiao (True Gentelman / Superstar, HOF fighter, enough said)

4. Roger Federer (probably the greatest tennis player ever.)

5. Pau Gasol (maintaining whites as stars and main reason Lakers won 2010 Basketball championship)

6. John Riggins (the last great white power back with speed, remember the run against the Dolphins in SB 83 and end round 80 yarder against the Cowboys in 79 playoffs)

7. Kelly Pavlik (Put White American fighters back and winning the undisputed middleweight championship against what some cosidered a supa affelet.)

8. The K Brothers (White Men dominating the heavyweights with ease the last five or so years.)

9. Ken Norton ( like Floyd Patterson, in conducting himself with class and speaking proper English, too bad he got hosed in his 3rd fight with Ali in Yankee Stadium and against Larry Holmes in 78)

10. Fernando Venzuela (when he played his 1st full season he was magical, thereafter, he estblished a HOF. He was a very humble and generous guy who gave alot to charity without telling anyone).

I agree with everyone of your picks. Westside, please take a look at what Christophe Lemaitre has done even if you hate track. Also to any other posters who ignore athletics. It's as important as finding a white running back. Please trust me on this. We need to disprove stereotypes! Everyone of you has made excellent choices. I could pick so many more but I stopped at a few.

Some are from my childhood of course and the rest as an adult and/or from researching.

Fran Tarkenton (my all-time favorite)

I actually forgot to mention Lemiuex. He's my favorite hockey player and the best of all time in the sport. Steve Young is my favorite qb of all time.

Don't have the time to write up a long list of faves today but my favorite athlete by far growing up was Roger Staubach.

Hey White Lighting, I do not hate track. As a matter of fact I love watching it during the Olympics. As always, I hope a white star(s) will emerge. I am following Christophe Lemaitre thanks to you and this site. The reason why he was not placed in my top ten is he has not yet succeeded at the highest level of the sport, i.e. a gold medal, setting a world record or beating Bolt(PED influenced). If he did he would be in my top fifteen or twenty.

I also forgot to mention Roberto Duran, the most savage and greatest lightweight in history. Every affelet who stepped in the ring began to perverbailly to piss in his shorts. I loved watching him in his prime and his first Leonard fight.

Dale Murphy

My favorites include...

Larry Bird
Dick Butkus
Ty Cobb
Sammy Baugh
Dale Murphy
Fedor Emelianenko
Klitschko brothers
Alexander Karelin
Bill Kazmaier
Dorian Yates
Richard Petty
Martin "Farmer" Burns
Lou Thesz

Dixie I like your list. The only problem is the Dorian Yates! 1st, how is body building a sport? More like a contestent show for men. 2nd, no respect for anyone who pumps in massive amount of roids to look like a freak. Today all the high end bodybuilders are freaks.

Come on, what eye to hand or leg corridination does one need to lift extreme amount of weights aided by roids? None. Just My opinion.

Man I cant believe I forgot Fedor, and probably the strongest man who ever lived, Zydrunas Savickas.
