Is Switzer the kid from West Virginia? I was hoping he would somehow end up at PSU.

Yes, Charleston, G.W. High School. According to his scout page he had an offer from PSU. Strange how he ended up at UNC.

His family may have had some connection down here. I saw him live in N.C. several times at combines! Great Athlete!

Things may not change much in Chapel Hill. There's a WHITE HS Junior RB that rushed for over 3,000 yds and averaged over 11 yds. per carry/ 37TD's, no more than 2 and half hours from UNC. He's not getting much of a sniff from Carolina, however it probably isn't Fedora's fought. The recruiter even knows who he is, but has made no contact to this point! So, I would say alot of the blame should be on the asst. coaches if UNC doesn't get any whiter!

I hope Switzer gets a shot. I believe he will in Fedora's spread offense as a slot receiver.

Shrine game practices start tomorrow - I will post any interesting notes I see on our guys as I find info. Not sure if we should move this thread to the NFL section or not considering its part of the draft process.

Cooper Taylor stood out on the first day of practice as did Colby Cameron and small school QB Nathan Stanley - a former New Miss player who transferred.

Here is an encouraging report on Cooper Taylor:

-The other really impressive defensive back was Cooper Taylor of Richmond. Get used to hearing that name this week, because he really looks the part of the hype I heard about him in the pre-season of this year. The 6’4 safety is a monster in the defensive back drills compared to his 6’0 or smaller counterparts, yet he’s reacting and closing on passes as well as any of them. His change of direction, efficient aggression, and reaction to the play were fantastic today, including a Collin Klien interception. I’ll look for him to be maybe one of three small schoolers here fighting for a Top 3 round pick.

This guy is going to be one of the guys I keep a close eye on. I know others have mentioned him already as long ago as a couple years ago. But are you kidding me 6'4 230 lbs and probably runs a 4.5 - he might be the black quarterback neutralizer and the new prototype in a safety. Very excited about his prospects.

Yeah Cooper's a stud, makes you wonder why Georgia Tech coaches were so eager to get rid of him! Instead of keeping him they finished a sloppy season 6-7 .

Catapano and Johnson were both mentioned as players that impressed today. While Rob McCabe was called out as being out of place.
3. Mike Catapano, DE, Princeton (6033, 270 and 4.85): As opposed to many of his classmates who will be working on Wall Street, based on his performance today, Catapano could have a long NFL career ahead of him. While lacking explosiveness off the ball, he consistently used quick, strong and active hands to jolt and defeat pass blocks. In 1 on 1 drills he was consistently able to defeat OT to pressure the QB. Although expected, Catapano’s smarts and awareness were impressive as he consistently used excellent technique and carried out his assignment. Strong, violent use of hands allowed him to jolt and shed run blocker with ease.

4. T.J. Johnson, C, South Carolina (6043, 323 and 5.20 E): Thick and well built, Johnson looked like a future starting center today. Able to bend knees to sink hips and block with good base/leverage, Johnson was able to physically dominate defensive tackles once he got his hands on them. He displayed a strong and accurate punch and consistently was able to “get a good fit” on the defensive tackle, which allowed him to tie up the pass rusher. During the 1 on 1 drills he really shined as he was never defeated and tied up and controlled man on nearly every play. On in-line run blocks, he was quick off ball delivering blow to defensive linemen with good leverage and had the strength to get movement consistently.

1. Robert McCabe, LB, Georgetown (6005, 227 and 4.80 E): Things seemed to move to fast for McCabe today as he was often late reading and reacting to the play and often was hesitant before breaking towards the play. His late reactions allowed blockers to easily get ahold of him and with his lack of size, they could tie him up and eliminate him from the play. He looked like a “tweener” who has the size/physique of a safety, but has the athleticism and speed of a linebacker. by:Russ Lande

Robert McCabe of Georgetown also showed why he’ll impress in coverage drills this week, as he really looks like a too-big strong safety. He transitioned in a very impressive tight end pick up, playing a 4-3 under SAM position (basically lined up as a standup defensive end) and took a step upfield before adjusting to the pass coverage, sank and dropped to pick up the tight end. Just a small note I had, but impressive nonetheless, and it's a sign of things to come for McCabe in coverage. by:Eric Galko

Rex Burkhead won't be playing in the Shrine Game, he decided to skip it in order to concentrate on the combine, which I think is a smart move. Playing in the game and participating in the practices will just give him another chance to get injured after the year he's had. The combine is more important than an all star game for players like him. Scouts have already seen what he can do on the field for Nebraska.

Texas vs. Nation All-Star Game

word is that wide receivers T.J. Moe (Missouri) and Ryan Spadola (Lehigh from the FCS) have been completely uncoverable in the practices leading up to the game ...

hopefully this will translate into opportunities in the League.

There probably isn't a right way for Rex to approach the draft. If he plays and doesn't do super then he's a bum. If he doesn't play then there will be question marks. Hopefully he has a good combine so he can be drafted by either the Houston Texans, the Washington Redskins, or the Seattle Seahawks.

Funny but sad. This is probably how it will shake out. Leonard went to St. Louis to sit behind Steven Jackson, who was a top 3 back at the time. Then Hester to SD to sit behind Tomlinson, the best back in the NFL. Then Gerhart to Minnesota. That's all the "startable" running backs we've had, all conveniently hidden behind the game's best.

Yep, and I dont think it can possibly be considered coincidence either. Somebody had to be pulling those strings from somewhere. No thinking man can rationalize this crazy phenomenon. "Conspiracy"? Damn straight!

Of the three, only Gerhart was considered by the NFL scouts and "draft experts" as possible starting material, and even then only by a minority. Hester was drafted as Tomlinson was slowing, but he and Leonard were routinely called "tweeners" and "fullbacks." Gerhart was also often called a "fullback" until he ran a 4.5 40 at the Combine, and even so many still consider him a fullback and always will.

If Gerhart was going to be a starter, either Houston or San Diego should have and could have drafted him. Burkhart will get the same shabby treatment at the Combine and leading up to the draft. The NFL doesn't want Whites starting at RB, just as Whites aren't wanted at cornerback. At least these guys are in the league now, for a long time there weren't even any White backup RBs. That's "progress" by NFL standards. Their only route to starting is the way it happened for Peyton Hillis -- injury after injury to the blacks ahead of them, then perform superbly when the opportunity comes, and even then the blacks have to remain injured. Forsey, Evans, Jervey, Hoover, and Leonard among others started a game or two and did well but were quickly demoted again.

Brian Leonhard was drafted in the second round and Hester in the third. I don't know about the "draft experts" but when the local team in my area (Lions) draft a back that high the DWF's, management, the sports media, and anyone else in the know, expects that guy to be the man and someone that can play right away and carry the rock. Never are they considered a fullback or blocking back--hell you can get those as UFA's--so not only is it racist it's stupid.

Yes, it only applies to Whites. I know it was a while back but Tommy Vardell was drafted top ten and used as a hybrid fb/rb, used a lot blocking as a fullback but got to run a little bit as well his first 2 seasons, quite a few runs came from the fullback spot which lowered his ypc. I think injuries messed his running up and he wound up being primarily a blocker, the only season Barry Sanders had a fullback and it was his best season with 2000 yards, i think Vardell was the only guy quick enough to get out and block for him

Brad Muster was drafted in the first, 23rd overall, just to play fullback and occasionally run. He had 141 carries one season with 1100+ yards from scrimmage, he left when the coach said he wouldn't be the featured back ever, he went to the Saints, like they were any fairer, to fill Craig Heyward's spot, a guy that weighed over 300 pounds at some times and was a rotational player. I think he got a few nagging injuries and said f this. So i guess this is what happens when a White sticks up for himself, they wind up a team that is worse

fyi Matt Scott is black - Rich Rodriguez is racist and only plays black QBs

I read a scouting report on Scott not knowing if he was black or white. There were no pictures. When I saw the phrase "new prototype" I knew he was black. "New prototype" is code for black.

When liberals write you can tell by their descriptions of players what race the players are.

It's scary that "New Prototype" is being used as a term to describe black QBs. No one wants to mention how the only reason these QBs and the spread option are being successful due to the changes in the game much like in basketball where carrying and traveling are part of the game today and how they changed the rules to cater to "streetball".

As I've noted many times on this site, I don't follow college football or the draft that much. But I do try to get to know some of the whites at "caste positions" as the draft nears each year. Anyway, after reading your post I decided to google Burkhead, who I did watch a few times last season -- I only watched Nebraska to see Burkhead in 2012. I was very impressed with him in all aspects. ESPN/ABC even had some analyst named Cunningham (played tackle in the NFL in the 90's) who praised him as a legit pro tailback prospect. But I guess stereotypes are still hard to break for some -- particularly Internet DWF's?

Via google, just found this revolting video scouting report from some lisping little, DWF a$$hole, who I wish would either move to Africa and get raped by multiple men at once or would do us all a favor and drive off a cliff. I'm not sure what this dingle-berry thinks matters anyway, but what he's spewing seems to be pure garbage...Actually, he might just be thinking in a "realistic" way, as Burkhead will probably get jerked around, moved to fullback, as this piece of white $hit is predicting:

P.S: I wonder if this self proclaimed Bleacher Report "draft guru" has done a video for Zach Line? My guess is it will be exactly the same, except he'll change "Burkhead" to "Line"

The guy in question is Matt Miller. As I noted in a thread about Luke Kuechly, Miller did a pre-draft hatchet job on Kuechly. In this hatchet piece Miller called Kuechly a 3rd round value "on a good day." He also bashed James Laurinaitis, one of the best linebackers in football, in the same piece.

Since Kuechly led the NFL in tackles his rookie year we can conclude that Miller doesn't know what he's talking about.

Miller comes across as virulently anti-white.

there was this loser on draftcountdown, also a self proclaimed draft guru who claimed Gerhart couldn't cut, had a whole video made up about it with a select few clips from his entire college career. He didn't make the quickest cuts in college, but since he has gotten in the NFL that has changed, I think it was that brace he was wearing. There was also another self proclaimed guru who guaranteed Anthony Dixon would have the better career. Dixon was given plenty of chances to share the load but the fans had the best take on him "powerback who thinks he is Barry Sanders"

Thanks for the info Extra Point and dwid. I don't follow these "draft gurus" too much, as most seem to be Big Bang Theory type "nerds", with an affinity for football -- ergo the self-hatred towards their follows whites and love for blacks that they've been trained to worship. Plus, as I noted before, I don't follow college football much, so I don't even know most of these college prospects anyway.

That Matt Miller looks like a real loser in that short video -- narrow shoulders, small face, weak beard, girlie voice and retarded lisp. I wouldn't be surprised if he was gay, with a strong preference for black males. Worst part is, he probably thinks he paying Burkhead a huge compliment, as I bet he assumes all whites would be happy playing the Henry Hynoski role for their entire careers. After all, any white allowed to play with his beloved ebony warriors should just be happy earning a NFL pay check --even at the league minimum. The guy (Miller) looks like pure scum, beyond compare. It certainly does NOT surprise me that he would be so negative regarding real talents like Kuechly & Laurinaitis.

Part of me would like to check out a few of Miller's scouting reports of black players, as he foams at the mouth with praise and amazement, but the honest truth is I really could care less about them. Who cares if Pride-less Uncle Tom "X" (R.Griffin) is a better quarterback prospect than Pride-less Uncle Tom "Y" (R. Wilson) or if Thug cornerback/tailback "X" is a better cornerback/tailback prospect "Y"?

Actually, at this time of the year I try to learn more about the white prospects, as I do follow the NFL much more than college. Caste Football is a great source, especially when some who follow the draft more closely post the white Combine invites.

Going a bit off topic, I've always thought Mike Mayock was pretty decent and fair to whites and I do sometimes checkout his mock drafts and info prior to drafts. Gil Brandt does not seem to be pro or anti white, so I check him out a bit (assuming he hasn't retired?). Black analyst Charles Davis also seems somewhat fair. All these guys are at NFL.com....As far as the ESPN guys, I don't like any of them (particularly hate Todd McGay). Only good one (by a wide margin) is Chris Mortensen, and he's more of a reporter than a "draft guru".

Do you have a link to that hacket job? I would like to copy it and send it to him and call him an a-hole for being such a rotten predictor of talent. Being wrong on both guys is inexcusable and he should be called on it.

these draft gurus always have some excuse and talk out of their ass when it comes to being wrong. "I wasn't talking about how "x player" would be as a pro player I was talking about him as a prospect", that one really got me laughing and I have heard it more than once. If you think he is going to better as a pro player than where most people have him rated....shouldn't you rank him a little higher? but then most say they want their mocks to be like the draft. If I had time I would make mock drafts to be like what the "looing back "insert year here" redraft to where I hit on almost all on who are doing well as a pro, and if they went top ten and are doing average then that should be considered a negative.

Ya it's ridiculous. I've seen a number of mock drafts by some of these draft dorks and it makes me laugh, because they still have Geno Smith going number one overall. They fail to even give a reason other than no other prospect has shown more than him. C'mon now.. I call bull after his poor performance in his bowl game where he was sacked 2x for safeties, McShay quickly jumped on ESPN and defended Geno as still being the top QB.

The best thing we can do is start emailing these guys and calling them out on their lack of accountability and talent as well as towing the "company" line when it comes to draft prospects. I have begun doing so - I have shot a few emails to Weenieworld and Tony Pauline. Of course they do not respond but I am pretty sure they are reading the emails.
