This is an interview from Alex Pierce after his pro day. Great interview and he admits that his brother is a pro basketball player in Europe. Would love to see his brother get
a chance to play in the nba. What an athletic family. So happy for Pierce and I have no doubt he will be a great receiver in the NFL!

A refreshingly positive article:

In Alec Pierce, Colts Find Matt Ryan’s New Go-To Guy

by Clayton Trutor

Long, lean, fast, and mean, the Indianapolis Colts have found their latest big-time receiver in Cincinnati Bearcats great Alec Pierce.

Everyone in Bearcat Nation knows what a simultaneously consistent and explosive target he’s been for Desmond Ridder and Cincinnati’s offense.

He is 4.41 fast and a leaper. Plus, he’s got great hands and he is a steady producer. This will breaks well for new Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan.

Ryan has always been an accurate and consistent passer—a skill set which will match up well with Pierce’s own abilities.

Expect this Pierce-Ryan connection to be a multi-year affair that’s going to do big things for the Indianapolis Colts.

I see it now: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Alec Pierce. He will one day find himself on the list of the Indianapolis Colts’ all-time receivers. (Note that I said Indianapolis Colts. I always make a point of distinguishing them from the actual Colts— the Baltimore Colts).

Starting with Pierce and going down to their UDFA signings, there's a decision-maker in Indianapolis who has his head screwed on the right way. I'd like to think they're reading Caste Football, though of course I know how unrealistic that is.

Still, it's great that Pierce was not only drafted (relatively) early, but went to a (relatively) white team. That's very important - look at the difference in how Cooper Kupp (relatively white-friendly Rams) and Andy Isabella (anti-white Cardinals) are treated.

In 3, 2, 1 and here will come all the haters saying it's a edited video because white men can't jump. Jealous, envious stupid people. He really is expolosive. Excited to see how
Alec does this fall. Please let him play as many snaps as possible. Screw the bringing him along slowly. We don't need another one of our guys to get screwed by sitting on
the bench like Andy Isabella.

Alec Pierce update, looking good for him to be the rare White receiver who doesn't have to serve a racial apprenticeship:

Colts are ‘definitely pushing’ Alec Pierce to compete for starting role

Indianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Alec Pierce has a prime opportunity to earn a starting role early on during his first NFL season, and the team is certainly pushing him to compete for it with the other players in the room.

While Pierce won’t be handed the starting role opposite Michael Pittman Jr., his skill set fits well with what the Colts want to do. His vertical abilities and versatility bode well for his chances of grabbing a starting role early on.

Head coach Frank Reich told reporters Wednesday that Pierce is already showing off his intelligence by quickly picking up the offense.

“I think we have high expectations for him but have a lot of confidence in that whole room as you guys know. Alec (Pierce), one of the things we like about him is he’s a very smart guy. He really has learned the offense quickly,” Reich said.

Pierce won’t be without his share of competition for the starting role. Ashton Dulin appears to be climbing the depth chart while the team is still hoping that Parris Campbell can put together a fully healthy season.

The second-round pick will have to earn that starting role, but having him work as the No. 2 would open up the offense in a big way. The Colts offense could be extremely multiple with Pierce working both outside and in the slot while Pittman Jr. reprises his role as the X.

“He’s done a good job so he’s going to have to compete for every snap, right? It’s a very competitive group,” Reich said. “But yeah, we’re definitely pushing him. We’re definitely pushing him and want him to compete to get in the mix and get on the field.”

Pierce was one of the blue-chip prospects the Colts had their eyes on throughout the pre-draft process. They see an extremely high ceiling for the Cincinnati product, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he finished second or third on the team in targets when his rookie season is all said and done.

We’ll see just how much progress needs to be made when training camp rolls around, but the rookie will certainly be vying for a starting role sooner rater than later.

It's very rare for our guys to be so highly sought after. This is a refreshing change if it happens from the usual racial apprenticeship that the majority of our football players have to endure. This kid is gonna be a star! You can just feel it!
So glad he went in the 2nd round and to a team that actually wanted him and believes in him. If only some of our other guys could get the same opportunity.

Pierce continues to get an unprecedented amount of positive press for a White rookie receiver:

No 'Big Difference' Between Falcons WR Drake London and Colts Second-Rounder, Says ESPN Analyst

by Daniel Flick

Is there a gap in ability between London and Alec Pierce?

How big is the difference between Atlanta Falcons first-round receiver Drake London and Indianapolis Colts second-round receiver Alec Pierce?

On paper, London and Pierce, a teammate of Falcons rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder at Cincinnati, have a lot in common; they're both big pass-catchers with ball skills and the ability to play above the rim, leading to them being their teams' first selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.

These similarities have led ESPN analyst Greg Cosell to state that he "did not see a big difference" between London and Pierce after watching the two on film.

Cosell's statement largely centers around a heightened belief in Pierce rather than a lack of faith in London. "(Pierce is) an unbelievable athlete. I really like Alec Pierce a lot," Cosell said. "I think (the Colts') plan is, barring anything unforeseen, that he's going to be a starter for them from day one."

While the two share similar attributes, the fact of the matter is that London went No. 8 overall and sparked a significant run on receivers, a wave that didn't include Pierce, whom Indianapolis selected No. 53 overall.

The 45-pick difference in draft slot speaks volumes as to how the NFL viewed Pierce in relation to London, a consensus first-round prospect.

It's not just the sheer number of total picks, but also the total of receivers who went between the pair. London, the first receiver off the board, Pierce, the 12th.

No teams view every single player in the same light, but the fact that 10 receiver-needy teams passed on Pierce after the Falcons selected London reveals a telling story as to how each player was valued inside league circles.

Comparing scouting reports on London and Pierce, it's clear the two share similar skill sets, in terms of both strengths and weaknesses. They were two of the best jump ball receivers in the 2022 class, showcasing some of the best body control among all wideouts. However, both will enter the NFL with questions about drops.

The biggest difference between London and Pierce is distinguishing good versus great. Alec Pierce is a good football player; it's why he was a top-60 pick. He's big (6-3, 208), athletic, smart, competitive and fast; he's likely even faster than London.

Still, London's bigger at 6-4, 219. He's athletic enough to do 540-degree dunks on the basketball court en route to receiving high Division 1 offers. He works blind spots in coverage as well as anybody and was one of the most physical players in his class after the catch.

Pierce is a very talented receiver who's likely just scratching the surface of what he'll become. London, too, as he's been focused solely on football for approximately 18 months. Both have the talent to be legitimate impact players on Sundays.

So, again, how big is the difference between London and Pierce?

The correct answer is 45 picks, 10 of which at the same position, and the simple margin between entering the NFL as "good" versus "great."

"he's likely even faster than London." That dude just can't bring himself to say it. Pierce timed around 4.33 to London's approx. 4.6? One guy is fast; one guy is rather slow.

4.6 40's are not slow(I ran 4.5 at 18y old) but 4.33 is much much faster. Pierce is in my opinion much better receiver than London. People think Pierce isn't fast after the catch but they are basing it on the level of QB who was throwing to him. Ridder was constantly underthrowing Pierce so Pierce was having to slow up in his routes in order to get the catches made. Give Pierce an opportunity with a Pro QB like Ryan and the ball will be there on time allowing Pierce to actually use his lightening fast speed.

I said "rather" slow, and it is, comparatively speaking, to some other receivers in the league. The main gist of my point was that Cosell saw very little difference between London and Pierce, other than London's 540 degree dunks. Saying Pierce is "likely faster" is wishy washy. Fact is, in a foot race, Pierce would make him look slow. Sure thing, 4.6 is faster than most anybody you'd find any day of the week in a random Walmart, or even society in general. In the NFL, it is pedestrian.

For a wide receiver a 4.6 is bordering on slow. Plenty who have ran a 4.6 have had success (heck, wasn’t Jerry Rice a 4.6 guy?) but 4.33 blows it out of the water. That is Randy Moss fast, at nearly the same size (Moss an inch or two taller).

Pierce, if given the chance and enough balls his way, will be a superstar in the league.

What is the value of a 540 degree dunk to a wideout? Even if it’s true, who cares?

I say ban wideouts using gloves would probably help make for a resurgence of our guys at the position. If hand eye coordination is the key factor then we should do quite well without them.

Course I’d also ban batting gloves and that ridiculous Barry Bonds body armor….. dare to dream

I haven't been as excited about a young receiver since Jordy Nelson. I love slightly taller guys who can run like the wind. Then combine that with his incredible jumping ability and his great hands! Play the kid and sit back and just watch!

An early training camp update on Alec:

Alec Pierce has no trouble with press coverage

It seems Saturday night was a day for the wide receivers. Pierce got in on the fun after having a shaky practice on Thursday. It seems the day off in between practices help get his mind right because the rookie flashed that vertical ability on Saturday.

Pierce was most impressive in 1v1 drills where he was beating press coverage with ease. It’s the kind of progress the Colts want to see from a rookie who could have a big role during his first season.

Here’s what Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan said about Pierce’s day:

“One of the big questions with any rookie wideout is how will that player can do against press coverage. Well, during Saturday’s 1-on-1 session, Alec Pierce had zero trouble beating press, and securing a reception. The first bit of this was Pierce again getting by Isaiah Rodgers for a deep connection from Matt Ryan. Later, Pierce beat Marvell Tell to the inside for a slant grab. The win of that rep led to wideouts coach Reggie Wayne high-fiving Pierce. The starting offense work for Pierce hasn’t led to many targets/receptions so far, but this was a good sign from the rookie.”

Pierce is competing for the WR2 role in the offense, and the Colts will want to see more of this progression from him moving forward.

If he is beating press coverage in his first camp he is ahead of Jordy IMO at this stage.

Pierce has all the potential in the World to be a stud! Wanted GB to Draft him, badly. Instead their magic mulatto(Watson) already has a bum knee and hasn't practiced.

For Alex Pierce to become a star the Colts have to throw to him more than twice a game. Pierce has to help himself by catching the ball. He dropped one pass for a TD, as a white player he must make every catch or he will find himself buried on the depth chart.

He was named the week 1 starter. I looked up the stat sheet and he had 0 receptions! So, he dropped one and that was it? His teammate Pittman had 9 receptions for 121 yards. There was 7 other receivers/RB/TE that made catches. So, he started and didn't get any receptions?
