Here's the first crack in the carefully constructed media image of Peterson. What he did was still Boy Scout stuff compared to so many others in the NFL, but still, going 54 miles over the speed limit shows some real potential for more serious screw-ups to come, especially when Boy Wonder says he "needs to be more aware of the speed I was going." Ya think?

Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson could lose his driver`s license after police clocked him driving at 109 mph -- nearly twice the posted speed limit -- on a suburban Minneapolis highway last weekend.

Peterson told The Associated Press on Thursday that he "got a little speeding ticket. I need to be more aware of the speed I was going and not let it happen again."

Peterson was pulled over just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday while driving his BMW in a 55-mph zone on state Highway 62 -- a normally busy stretch of road known as the Crosstown that connects Minneapolis with southern and western suburbs, Edina police spokeswoman Molly Anderson said. She said Peterson was given a citation and allowed to drive away after what appeared to be a "very routine" traffic stop.

Wow! I just read this thread for the first time and I see Manifest Destiny tried to turn it into a "We Love Adrian Peterson" topic. Thankfully no one else agreed with him. He tried to do the same thing a few months ago in several other threads. While I have nothing against Peterson I could care less about him. I will let the media whores brag about what a great athlete he is and what a great person he is. I'll admit Peterson is one of the best runningbacks in the league but there are way too many black runningbacks who are terrible and take away roster spots from qualified whites. I still can't get over the fact that we don't have a single white rb starting in the entire NFL and people come on this site to praise black runningbacks.

Yeah WA 33 Peterson beyond this one incident of recklessness is the goods when it comes to running the ball. He is above and beyond of the typical scrub/cancer affeletic types who liter the NFL rosters right.

Peterson doesn't look nearly as good running the ball this year as he did in his first two years. He had a per rush average of 4.7 going into tonight's game, which surprises me but came about mainly from good performances in the first two games of the current season. In five of his last six games (including tonight's)his average rush has been 3.88 and less. Plus he's always been a fumble machine.

Fumble machine!

I keep having visions of black backs getting a handoff and cutting to the outside, only to do a hot potato style shovel pass to the ground a couple of seconds later.

Peterson was recently cited for speeding. It was the THIRD time this year that he was clocked at over 100 mph. Hmm. I wonder what would happen to an average citizen in such a case?

Needless to say, AP is safe from the long arm of the law.

Speaking from experience (of a much lesser speeding ticket), if AP contested the tickets it could take months before he meets with the county clerk to decide if he will have a trial. That goes for civil and criminal offenses. I don't think he'll get out of this when the time comes to face the music.

I read the article. He was clocked at 109 MPH. Says he didn't realize he was going that fast.
...And still just gets off with a speeding ticket. In my impetuous youth, I was pulled over by a local gendarme for 104 MPH, was cited for reckless driving, and had to have my roommate bail me out of jail! But, then again, I wasn't a black superstar running back for the local team of worship.

Third time this year? Are you sure about that Bigunreal? Anyways if it was his third time this year he would have lost his license already.

I once went through a YELLOW light and received 3 points on my license and a $180 fine. But then again, I'm a german-american man....a perfect victim for the police-state funded "race hustle."

"Kind hearted" Peterson had better lose his license at the very least. We all know how things transpire between the PTB and their special little house pets.

If the jock-huffing fans think AP is good....wow, if Toby Gerhart is ever permitted to hit the NFL scene (that's a very big "if"), they'll see a stronger, more athletic, less-fumble-prone version of their black "superman" hero.Edited by: Thrashen

I actually got a ticket last month for running a green light. Yes a green light. Some prick black cop pulled me over. I was shocked that I was even getting pulled over because I did nothing wrong. I had several people in the car with me that were like what the hell is going on. He gave me a ticket for running a red light. I told him he's a racist and I will fight this in court. I have to go on Dec 18 and my witnesses are coming as well. I will probably lose because in this country you are guilty until proven innocent. What a bunch of crap.

whiteathlete33- Yes, I'm sure I read it was his third time caught this year going over 100 mph. Now while that would mean a long, long license suspension for the non-NFL world, I doubt very seriously that any part of our injustice system will permit AP to have his license taken away.

Athletes have been getting away with this kind of stuff for years. I recall an incident several years ago, involving then-NFL RB Terry Allen, who had just been caught after leading police on a three state high speed chase at speeds of up to 135 mph. In a matter of fact way, the story in the local newspaper noted that Allen had been arrested SEVEN times for drunk driving while in college. Think about that. No uproar from MADD. Apparently he never had his license taken. And, of course, he received absolutely no real punishment for leading police on a high speed chase through three states while drunk. Then Redskin G.M. Charlie Casserly spoke for all officialdom when he expressed his relief that Allen wasn't hurt. No concern about innocent bystanders.

EVERY celebrity is completely above the law.

He better get his license suspended. We don't need any affletes on the road who think they are driving within the speed limit at 100 mph. I could understand if he was driving 70-75 mph he could say that but not 100.

The withered old clown, Casserly, is now a "professional scouting analyst" for NFL network and ESPN. His "expertise" sounds like a slave auction, and "Massa Cassa" plays the role of plantation owner, salavating over his new "heard."

I've heard him huffing jockstrap vapors so vigorously into his nostrils that his sexuality was surely in question.

Then again, this practice is so mudanely commonplace on (especially) NFLN that I'm sure the DWF's have fully accepted their limp-wristed roles as professional waterboys.Edited by: Thrashen

It's like the old Chris Rock routine, where a black guy brags about supporting his family, and Rock says, "That's wtf you're supposed to do, what do you want, an f'in medal?"

We already had our Tiki Barber tribute thread here a couple of years ago. It went over like a lead balloon. A black athlete who isn't firing guns orbeating his girlfriend isn't worthy of praise for not being a criminal. Besides, the number of black athletes glorified because of their character who later were arrested for one serious crime or another is long and ever growing.

Haha nice Don.

How is this anyone's business? I don't know the details but was the child killed? Did he need serious medical attention? Kids have had the switch taken to their ass since day 1, and remember how good society used to be until recently?

I hope he didn't use a racial slur when he was whipping his kid. That would be a hate crime.

Couldn't care less about Peterson or his most likely mulatto son but hopefully he goes to prison for this just for the fact that he's a piece of **** racist.

Yes, a Peterson child murdered a year ago was born of a mud shark. The killer was a asian(surprising). Peterson's current girlfriend is an attractive black girl. Like I said on a another thread, if the injuries are severe (most likely), Peterson is in a world of hurt. The good thing about this is hopefully Line will get his chance to excel, cause Peterson will most likely not be allowed to play until a not guilty verdict. Its hard to plea bargain crimes against children. Peterson, like he was caught pissing outside of a Mickey Ds in sub degree wheather, he lacks common sense. He should have known not to whip the child and leave marks. Big dummy

I would like to know the details too. Besides the agenda(s) evident in the Ray Rice incident of late, making it all but illegal for a parent to discipline a child is also being pushed as part of the plan to destroy the traditional family and the role of parents, particularly the father.

If Peterson beat the kid to the point that it reflects sadism that's one thing, but if it was a one-time corporal punishment that went near or crossed a bit over the line, should his football career be ended because of it? I can't stand the way the system worships blacks to help achieve its own nefarious ends, but I'm beginning to feel sympathy for Rice, and maybe for Peterson too depending on the circumstances of the case.
