Good for him, hopefully he has a chance to start....but i think he will be more used to just come in on running downs....i just hope he plays better with the Bears than he did the Rams.

After watching Peterson's highlights it was the rest of the Bears secondary that looked silly. Archuleta's replacement got dissed several times. As a matter of fact, I didnt see any bad tackles by him in the highlight video. I bet they will be calling for Urlacher to be benched soon too

His replacement did even worse than him!
Archuleta was beat by Troy Williamson when Tillman let Archuleta take him. Normally I wouldn't find that weird but Williamson was the only wide receiver on the play. Tillman is suppose to take their best receiver. I don't understand why Tillman dropped out of the play. Maybe someone more football savvy can explain that to me?

Tommie Harris and the rest of the defensive line were getting beat all day. I don't recall them ever getting to their quarterback. The Bears linebackers weren't filling their gaps either. A lot of poor tackling in that game.

Brandon McGowan is expected to start in his place. Archuleta has been struggling in the same areas this season that he did in Washington, which is a surprise because coach Lovie Smith was supposed to have a better idea of his strengths and weaknesses.

The Southtown Star reports Chicago Bears SS Adam Archuleta was a colossal disappointment. The Bears acquired him from Washington and signed him a three-year, $8.1 million deal. "I would love the chance to be back, to get a second chance to show people that this wasn't really the way I play the game," Archuleta said. He admitted to losing some confidence when his starting strong safety position was lost to SS Brandon McGowan. "I'm a firm believer that what's supposed to happen will happen," Archuleta said. "I've made my bed and I'll lay in it, and whatever happens, I'll take it in stride and I'll keep working to make things better."
There you have yet another example of how hard it will be to ever overturn this odious Caste system. Not only is this one white DB on the Bears held responsible for all their defensive deficiencies (as he was last year with the Redskins), but he ACCEPTS the fact that the criticism is valid. Do you think ANY black player at ANY level would allow himself to take the sole responsibility for his team's failures? Archuleta should speak up and say something like "I'm only one guy and this is a team game. Sure, I could play better, but so could everybody else. I KNOW I can play. If they don't want me here, I'll find somebody that does want me." Archuleta's every mistake is magnified, replayed and commented upon by the white-hating jock-sniffers who relish in this drivel. There are so many horrendous black DBs in the NFL who couldn't cover me, and don't understand pee wee league fundamentals about tackling, yet THIS one particular DB is held up for public ridicule, two years in a row now, when he was playing a lot better than most of them.
This stuff is beyond ridiculous.

Sounds like he was accepting the fact that he was playing poorly, not that the Bears struggles were only because of him.

I'm actually happy he was released, now maybe he can actually play for a better team. About 90% of starting safeties in the NFL are simply terrible (tackling and in coverage), therefore, Adam will certainly land somewhere.
I'd love to see him end up with the Patriots or Packers.

Yeah I think he'll land somewhere pretty quick. Hell, come on back to Arizona, Arch. He gets a bad rap and as we've seen many times, when a defense struggles, fingers get pointed at the white DB's first. Playing through injuries all the time probably hasn't helped.

I don't see how Archuleta could have ever succeeded in Chicago with the media and the drunk white fans on his back from day one.

Here's the mentality of the drunk white fan: When a blackwideout beats the backfield and makes a long reception, if a white safety is involved, even if a black cornerback had primary coverage and was also beaten, the white defender was at fault. Plus Archuleta had a broken hand if I recall. His career is now completely over now after a couple mistakes/misreads b/c of the wrath of the drunken fans. The guy actually played solid.
Playing on a new team with a broken hand and averaging 5 tackles a game and getting 2 sacks and an interception isn't bad at all considering. Matt Jones dropped 3 passes last year and his career was almost over too. IF you are black you probably get at least a dozen serious mistakes on the year before getting the wrath of fans and coaches and if you are young and learning, you get that privilege for 3 or 4 years. As we all know blacks are "supermen"! Looks like the same fate for Stuart Schweigert too.
Both Archuleta and Schweigert could probably be solid CBs with their speed as well if tried there.
