I think this young lady deserves a thread of her own considering what she has achieved so far whilst only a junior in University. I tam hoping that she can continue to get faster as she moves outdoors for the 2021 season. her body mechanics are beautiful for sprinting except for her arm swing which can be corrected with training. She is also talented in the 400m as evidenced by her relay leg at the NCAA Indoors last weekend. Bright things for this young lady as long as she keeps her head on straight and doesn't get drawn into the party scene.

I agree sprintstar, but I think she's a junior.

I agree. We should have started a thread for her coming out of high school. Abby Steiner is simply that good. I'm happy she has two years of college left but I wouldn't be suprised if she turns pro either after the olympics this summer
or after her junior year in college ends. Even if she stays all four years she should continue to get better. The arm movement is akward butt it's hard to argue the results. Maybe tinker it but don't change too much since she has run like
that her whole life. I love watching her compete. I would like to see her get her starts a little better along with the arm movement. I also want her to work on the 60 meters. She is good but I see alot more improvement to come there
in the future just like with Boling. I hope she runs the 100 and 200 meters as a pro instead of the 200 & 400 meters. I will root for her regardless though as it's a joy to watch her sprint. :)

I stand corrected she is a junior at UofK. Thank you CS for pointing this out. Interesting tidbit, the womens T&F head coach is black. Also looking at their coaching staff Christian Coleman is listed as a "volunteer coach".

Isn't that the equivalent of leaving Jesse James in charge of security for a bank?

Not good at all having Coleman within shouting distance of your track and field team.

yah she beat the 2nd place finisher by .41. She would have won the Aussie outdoor title with that time

Abby Steiner won the 2022 SEC Indoor Championships in the 200 Meters Finals. She ran the fastest time by any american sprinter ever and the 2nd fastest indoor
200 meters time in the world. Yes it was the 2nd fastest time ever run by any woman in history! Even faster than Privalova. Amazing. It's also interesting to note that
3 of the top 4 fastest indoors times in the 200 meters are by white sprinters of european ancestry. Wow is Abby Steiner amazing! Even better she is still in college!

and a whole list of great scalps just below these women too. We've seen lots of sprinters with promise over the years. Will Abby Steiner reach the very top?

It would be great to have an indoor arena here in Australia but it's a winter thing and everyone is devoted to other sports. I just checked the IAAF site and, believe it or not, they only have a record of 2 Australian girls ever running 200 indoors.
Both were run last month in the States in college and both very moderate times around 24.5 and 25.3 - and I've heard of neither of them.

We did have a temporary indoor track set up in Sydney a few years around the mid 90s to test the waters but it obviously didn't pay enough for the promoters to do it ever again.
I enjoyed (have it taped actually) seeing our champion of the time, Damian Marsh over 60m beat Dennis Mitchell who was brought over to raise interest

so many "brothers" on chat forums, youtube etc saying Steiner should be DQ'd for the slight flinch at the start of her 60 m semi. If she was black nothing would be said...typical......

Abby keeps on lighting up the track. she sets a championship record in the 200m with a 22.16, obviously winning the National Championship in her best event.

she also took second place in the 60m, running a personal best 7.10 (7.09 was the winning time) and narrowly missing out on the title. (of course, she barely held on to second, as third, fourth, and fifth place ran 7.11, 7.13, and 7.15 in a VERY close race).

i eagerly await her outdoor performance this year.

Amazing perfomance by Abby Steiner today. She now holds the all time NCAA Womens Indoor 200 Meters National Championship Meet Record. Steiner
also won the national championship for the second year in a row! Her 60 time was amazing. A little better start and she wins this race. Bring on the outdoor
season. I can't wait to see what she can do! So glad she is finally healthy and running so fast.

Abby Steiner is a magnificent talent. 22.34 into a 5.6? That must be high 21s legal.
Jake Doran has confidence now as I watch his interviews. I wonder what Browning will bring to the table soon? Doran's -1.5 wind turned around equates to a 10.10 in miserable conditions - wet and squalls.
He's making the New Zealander run ragged (ie even more ragged). Hale ran 2nd last but only 2/10ths down so he won't disappear for a while - but I wonder when he'll make changes, or if someone will step in and advise him

This apparently converts into 21.67 with positive wind just ahead of Allyson Felix's 21.69 and it's only April. She will get faster. Even with no wind should would have been in the
sub 22 second range in the high 21.90s.

Doran has moved up and done so in in a hurry. He finished in last in the same race last years so he's progressed by leaps and bounds. Maybe Hale could go train with him. I'm so
sad for Hale as he isn't getting the right coaching in my honest opinion.

This video describes the magnitude of what she just did. If this does not make you question black superiority, nothing will.

And she did that with a poor start comparatively to the other ladies. Look at her just blaze by them beginning at the halfway mark!

I went to the WorldAthletics.com Website to check the Worlds Fastest 100 meters times for women.

Abby Steiner is 1st at 10.92! In second place is way back at 10.99. What's so amazing about Steiners time is that she did is with a horrible
start and the fact that's it's only April. She is not even in her peak sprinting condition yet. No one is but she is running like she could run the
Olympics or World Championships right now. She has a legitimate chance at breaking the all time womens 200 meters world record in the next four years.

Abby Steiner as of today is the fastest women on earth and she is just getting started. I just hope and pray she stays healthy as this year will be epic to watch! :)

an amazing talent - I was wondering what fast starting Miciah Briscoe thought when Steiner blew past her 2m in the last 30.
I spent some time in the IAAF site top lists using "irregular wind" option. Of course that category caters to include overly positive winds, not negatives - but that run of hers into a 5.6 is the first one down the list with anything like that wind resistance.
As it is that was number 135 all time. Stunning -
I hope it doesn't become a FloJO "incorrect wind reading" moment. There was already a person on one of the forums saying how there was virtually no wind with a "look at the long jump flag" comment

well the long jump flag comment is a joke....if there was no wind her time would have been well below 22 the way she was running.... also Flo jo was juicing, Steiner is not...
