Last November I counted up all the white players on NFL practice squads and it came out to about 29%. Recently, I looked at it again and going into this weekend the percentage of whites on P-Squads has risen to about 34%. That's a 5% rise from when I counted it up at the end of 2010:

Here's the updated 2011 breakdown, by position -- 88 whites/about 256 P-Squad spots:
10 QB's
34 OL's
9 TE's
5 FB's
2 RB's C. Reynolds, Rams; E. Kettani, Patriots
8 WR's C. Hall (Phil); A. Tanner (N.O.), T. Grisham (Pitt); J. Hastings (SF); D. DePalma (NYG); S. McKnight (NYJ); J. Maehl (Hou), T. Beiler (Jx)
11 DL's (several of these DL's can be considered 3-4 OLB's)
6 LB's
3 DB's K. McCarthy (DN); C. Maragos (Sea); C. Jones (SF)
** Teams with the most white P-Squaders, as of today, are the Patriots and Rams. Both have 6 (teams are allowed 8 P-Squaders). Denver is next with 5. Six teams have 4 (half their PS roster). They are Houston, Cincinnati, Oakland, New Orleans, San Fran. and Indianapolis....If one where to count all the players on the Patriots P-Squad and IR list, I believe the team would come close to being majority white, which is surprising.
** Arizona, which has an entrenched pro black GM, Has ZERO (0). No big surprise there, as I guess their small spike in white starters means a drop in white backups and no P-squad slots for crackers.
** Green Bay having just 1, is a major disappointment. It's Graham Harrell, by the way. He's one of 10 QB's on P-Squads. Many teams are trending towards just 2 QB's on 53 man rosters, so these P-squad QB's are defacto #3 QB's for most of their teams....Also, in addition to drafting a sumo bust (so far) in round one, the Packers have a pair OL sumo projects on their P-Squad, so they probably were embarrassed by having an all white line in 2010 and set out to change that.... The other teams with just one 1 white athlete on their P-squads are: Miami, Buffalo (new black GM), Minnesota (new black HC) and Dallas....Nine teams only have 2 whites on their P-squad.
Final Note: These guys on P-Squads make about $5,000 per week. That's roughly $85,000 per season, although there seems to be so much change on PS rosters, that very few stay for an entire season.
