Vanderbilt has started 11, 8, 12, 11, 10, 9, 11, 11, 9, 7, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8, 7 and 7 whites.
8 this year but very interesting squad. While the SEC somehow manages to get darker, Vandy has seemingly stockpiled white players.
The most interesting player to me is Rb Evan Hampton, who has been called by the media as “MVP of the fall” with one outlet saying he is the best RB in the room.
Some notes:
“Running back Evan Hampton was so good that, while they've got two good options in Sedrick Alexander and MK Young, I don't think they can meep him off the field.”
“RB Evan Hampton, the 2025 Kentucky Gatorade High School Player of the Year, may be the MVP of fall camp. Hampton has shown the patience and ability to effectively run between the tackles, has been an outstanding pass receiver too. On Saturday, Hampton also showed some breakaway speed. Hampton is part of a crowded backfield that includes established veterans Sedrick Alexanderand MK Young, and with Alexander a very limited participant this August due to his importance to the roster, and Young (who showed off outstanding blocking skills on Saturday) also seemingly on a limited snap count the first two weeks of camp, Hampton has been so impressive that it would be a shock if he didn't see touches on offense and maybe special teams this fall.”
“The case for Hampton to be considered Vanderbilt’s fastest running back could be made and he’s also helped by his pass catching abilities.”
Vanderbilt also starts two white WRs, including Alabama transfer Cole Adams.
The other starter, Brycen Coleman, has been mentioned as a camp standout.
Two starting WRs in the SEC makes this a team to pull for.
Interestingly, freshman Owen Cabell, who Vandy flipped from Alabama, also had a standout camp. I don’t expect him to see the field much but alongside Hampton he makes this a team worth monitoring for the next few years.
A tight QB battle between Vandy’s first five star recruit in Jared Curtis and a senior QB Blaze Berlowitz leads Vandy’s all white QB room.
The OL has not been immune to what feels like the darkest national trend in my life.
LB Nick Rinaldi is the only defensive player of note. maybe one of the handful of DL and LB on the roster can crack the three deep.
