2026 Track Results

Aidan Murphy of Australia runs 20.05 (0.6w) today at the Oceania Athletics Championships.
that's twice he's gone past Peter Norman's recently - and straight after heats and final of the 400m with his 44.44. He's blossomed this season and his 6'5" height doesn't seem to work agsinst him (maybe in the 100m but I bet he breaks his 10.23 pb soon).
Points wise over 100,200,400 he is now our best ever oversll sprinter

Lachlan got 6th place in China today at 10.06. I hope he is not coming off of his peak for this season.

some other notable results: Tentoglou won the long jump in 8.46m, Prandini 5th in the 200m in a pedestrian 22.46, Amy Hunt digressing to 7th in 22.87. Aussie Abby Caldwell wins the 1500m in 3:57.26. Warholm starting to get his legs as he was 2nd in the 400mh in a seasons best 46.82

Your head can be past the starting line but not your fingers. Your body weight is on your fingers mostly and you are what we call in sprint coaching "rocked and locked" so your head is naturally past your line of balance otherwise you are weighted back into your blocks. Your legs and feet act as springs to launch you out of the blocks, pressing the balls of your feet into the blocks then pushing off while your arms/fingers balance your forward lean.
Thanks, sprintstar. I appreciate the information.

Mastermulti, I just read an article about Murphy. His mother is Tania Van Heer, the great sprinter who ran for Australia.
