It's time to start a thread for the indoor & outdoor season. There is no Olympics or World Championships this year. We will have an exciting
European Championships this summer. Hope to see some new names rising up!

Patrizia Van Der Weeken runs a time of 7.20 to start the season off right. Fastest time in Europe so far!

It's very early but on January 7th Konstantin Krylov ran a 6.65 for the fastest time in Europe so far. Hoping he can break his p.b. in the
60 of 6.56 indoors this year!

Ten Big Athletics Stories for 2026

I will just say that Bol would not move to the 800m on a whim, she must already know she can run it and be highly competitive. In the 400m and 400mh she will never be #1 as long as Mcgloughlin is racing. So maybe it is a wise decision, we shall see.

A new female sprinter from Germany to keep a close eye on.

19 year old Philina Marianne Schwartz of Germany ran a time of 7.22 to open her 2026 season. Blazing fast and she won't turn
twenty years of age until November!

7.22 is a very good time for a19y old, hopefully she can whittle that down to the low teens or even go sub 7.10 by indoor seasons end!

Another young Spanish Sprinter to keep a close eye on. 19 year old Jorge Hernandez is the Spanish Under 20 National Record Holder
in the 100 Meters with a time of 10.27 wind legal. He just ran a time of 6.65 the other day so he is coming along nicely. He will turn
20 years old in February and I feel we will see big things from him in the coming years. Exciting young prospect!

Very few sprinters can keep their speed into their mid 30's. Andrew Robertson of Great Britain is one of the few. He ran a seasons best
time of 6.59 yesterday which is the number 2 time in Europe so far. He will turn 36 years of age in December. What a talent and despite
not being a superstar I have so much respect for this sprinter who has worked as well as trained for many years now! He still loves the sport of track and field and continues to chase his dream!

Jody Smith also ran a 6.57 just a couple weeks ago. His 100m personal best is 10.40 so he should be able to smash that this year. Samuele Ceccarelli ran a 6.61 on Jan 9th. Good to see him racing.

Jody Smith came 4th today in Stockholm, running a time of 6.58. His 6.52 was run in December, 2025, so we spoke about in the 2025 results thread.
Samuele Ceccarelli came 6th in the same race, running 6.61.

That's three races in the 6.50's for Jody Smith. He just may be a late bloomer. Hope he smashes his 100 meters p.b. outdoors this summer.

I'm happy to see Samuele Ceccarelli running faster times again. The last 2 years were horrible & I had just about given up hope on him. He is a long way from his 6.47 p.b. from 3 or 4 years ago but it's a start!
