The Sam Houston Bearkats joined the FBS in 2023 and have had 3, 3 and 5 White starters. In 2026 the Bearkats are projected to start 6 White athletes.
The Bearkats went 10-3 in 2024 and 2-10 in 2025. Starting QB Hunter Watson entered the transfer portal this offseason and remains without a team, former big time recruit QB Mabrey Mettauer hitched his wagon to head coach Phil Longo due to their Wisconsin connection only to enter the portal again this past offseason and he remains there with his football career probably over. Last year they also had a good RB in Shane Porter who ran for 648 yards in 2024 for North Texas only to rush 2 times for -1 yard last year. Seems like he left the team and moved on from football so caste stooge Phil Longo helped derail three collegiate careers for White athletes.
