That's obvious and has been for a couple generations. I was giving a rundown of the numerous individual disappointments of the 2026 season, a post I put some time into. Didn't expect it to be summarily dismissed.
I agree with you. The season has stunk to this point. Injuries as always are magnified due to the small number of Whites allowed to play in the first place. Teslaa was never going to be anything more than a 4th or 5th option. Many of us predicted the likely outcome of Skattebo under the Harbaugh/Rodent Nagy regime as well. The most baffling to me is Seattle's refusal to give Kupp more than a couple of targets a game.
Shipley has never been able to capitalize since coming into the league which is unfortunate. Steele getting meaningful playing time isn't likely but you never know and I think he is actually a more capable 3 down running back than Shipley. For the Eagles they look like they will slowly decline starting this season which is fine by me. Hurts window as a supposedly "elite" QB was short lived and due to quality offensive line play.
Maye is coming around, his struggles early on reminded me of Big Ben's 2006 season after winning the Super Bowl in 2005. It seems that Maye has rebounded nicely though beating the Bills last week and torching the Raiders yesterday. Broncos are 3-2, Nix has not been the issue as much as the playcalling with Davis Webb. Payton taking those responsibilities back yesterday was a step in the right direction. Herbert is the victim of poor roster building and refuse to think the regression after 6 years or elite play are all due to his ability. Perhaps off field distractions are part of it but watching parts of Chargers games this year, their isn't much for Herbert to work with outside of McConkey. McDaniels was supposed to be the missing link but the pairing has not worked.
Hopefully as the season moves on there are some surprise White performances and a few UDFAs get signed due to injury caused attrition. The preseason once again illustrated that many White athletes are more than capable. Steele, Schrader, Castle, Connors, Floriea (not signed back to the Browns PS), Caden Davis on the PS, Scottie Miller etc. all should be on active rosters playing every week. Meanwhile the QB position is in near crisis mode.
