2026 NFL Preseason

Not the best throw by Mendoza, was a little behind the target. Awesome catch and run by Woodaz though. Showcased great athleticism

Laube had a great game today. 6 for 37 and a touchdown, plus a 14 yard reception. He was manufacturing yards with not a ton to work with from what I saw.

Texans have a wide receiver named Daniel Sobkowicz out of Illinois State who slipped under my radar which is pretty rare. He had 2 solid catches

Not a good first half for Will Howard who threw two picks. Allar will play the second half. Cade Klubnik looked good for the Jets, and Holcomb, Bruener and Sawyer all strong on defense for Pitt.

There is no logical reason an explosive guy like Laube isn’t a sought after 3rd down back. Reason Borghi should have stuck around.

But we all know the racism against white athletes.

Agreed. Not the end of the world though for Howard. Preseason game and getting reps/experience is all part of it. Outside of the two errant throws he looked pretty good moving around the pocket and throwing on the run. Allar certainly looks better in the second half so far.

Sawyer looks like a different player completely, looks more like a pass rusher than a 4-3 DE. Excited to see what he does this year.

That’s not good, but hopefully it is precautionary.

Tyron Taylor has a noticeable beer gut. I dislike the Packers more than any other team team by far.

What’s the consensus on WR Kolbe Katsis? I just turned on game as he returned a kick for 40 yards 1787364313034.png

I watched much of the Jets vs Steelers second half. Unfortunately nothing great from our many White Steelers contingent. For the Jets I was very impressed with 3rd string (for now?) MLB Chase Wilson. The West Virginia alum had 6 tackles (1 for a loss), a sack, a PD and a QB hit. He was very involved from what I saw.

Cody Schrader with a few touches in the second half for Denver. So far he has one rush and one catch in the NFL regular season while already building up a budding Kennedyesque transaction history with five different organizations. Sadly it'll be a huge upset if Cody ever gets a genuine opportunity with an NFL team.

Jack Strand to Cash Jones for a TD. Strand is the best QB on the Falcons roster both in terms of physical talent and "upside".

There was some discussion around Rutgers DE Eric O'Neill last season and no consensus to what his background was. He flashed today in the Lions preseason win so I decided to go back and do some research. His Rutgers profile showed a picture of him with his family at senior day. I think it's safe to say he's White and one to root for making the Lions roster.

Anderson Castle running well on this drive and the afternoon…,

Nice seeing Cash Jones and Castle in the game both getting touches. Strand looks to belong in the NFL after making the jump up from Division II as an UDFA. It is preseason but he has been able to take a alot of reps along with playing in 42 games in college with 1953 pass attempts. The experience matters regardless if he was a division 2 QB.

Riley Leonard wasn't able to capitalize on his opportunity but Richardson is a generational bust (there are quite a few of those). Colts should probably look at a guy like Mason Rudolph who may be available and would be a reliable QB2.

Cash Jones has over 100 total yards in the game. Why wasn't he utilized at UGA?

Some notes on the Baltimore vs Minnesota game.

UDFA Joe Fagano has once again looked better than Tyler Huntley. And Huntley didn’t crap the bed, Fagano was just balling out again. 15/20 for 123 and a TD, 2 carries for 10 yards.

On the defensive side, the Ravens have two ( maybe 3 with Dom DeLuca) UDFAs who deserve to make the squad based on their play. Miami Ohio safety Silas Walters had 6 tackles, an interception and a pass defense today. Ethan Burke is the other who was a huge draft snub out of Texas. A melanated player from Texas with his college production would have likely went by day 2. The 6’-6” beast had 3 tackles (1 for a loss), a sack, 2 passes defended and 2 QB hits. Hopefully these guys have given the coaches enough reasons to keep them or put enough good tape for another team to sign them to the 53 man roster.

Late round/UDFA rookie QBs with a nice showing in the early games. Are recruiting services/colleges and programs really getting the best players? Do the NFL scouts and their amateur counterparts actually know anything? Why don't NFL teams invest in QB development?

Falcons QB Jack Strand - 12/17 212 yds 1 TD 9 rushes 22 yds 1 TD
Redskins QB Athan Kaliakmanis - 11/14 162 yards
Ravens QB Joe Fagnano - 15/20 123 yards 1 TD
Lions QB Luke Altmyer - 9/13 86 yards (zero turnovers while 9 year veteran Dobbs has 2 turnovers)

Good points on Strand and Jones. Both look like they belong. We are probably the only group of people who knew what Jones was capable of and how criminally he was underused by the “Dawgs” and cuck Kirby.

Richardson Sr (important for the black ego to highlight this) looked hopeless against the Falcons 3rd (maybe even 4th string) when he played in the 2nd half. The Colts should just cut bait, acquire a vet like you suggest and keep Leonard as the QB3 as he needs more seasoning too.
