Pickett 8/11 62 yards
Haynes King getting big praise from Chis Collinsworth was 5/8, one dropped pass 44 yards and a TD pass on his first NFL Drive.
Collinsworth noting that King the ACC POY, was one of the fastest players on the field with 4.46 speed made an 8 yard scramble to keep the TD drive alive!
CC also saying King will make the Panthers team!
Beck looking good as well. 11/14, 148 yards and a TD pass.

Beck, King and Pickett are all just as good as the current anointed black starters for the cardinals and panthers.

Same here but it looks like all the QBs had more than respectable showings. It begs the question why these guys are not being developed and unquestionably mediocre black qbs are gifted the starting jobs.
I just can’t suspend disbelief and think that the 32 starting qbs in the league are actually the most qualified.

Haynes King looked in total command of the offense as his highlight package shows. Now we should note that the Cardinals coal black defense is hot garbage but that's fine. He shredded them like he needed to.
I was just checking King's stats at Georgia Tech and didn't realize how productive he was. For a guy who supposedly can't throw, his completion percentage was a phenomenal 72.9% in '24 and 69.8% last year. He threw 55 TD passes at GT to just 24 picks, and also ran for 737 yards in '23, 587 in '24 and 953 last year.
He ran a 4.46 40 at this year's Combine and his RAS is 9.56, 44th best all-time out of 1,126 QB prospects. And his father is a high school football coach.
Damn right he should have been drafted in the second round. How is this kid a "project"? I didn't know much about him before but will follow him now. I know we have some Kenny Pickett truthers here but I'd like to see King become the backup to Young this season.

Cardinals RB Evan Hull had 9 rushes for 23 yards for just about 4 yards per rush attempt.

give him barely a look he seems to be treated with the Caste System. It's all good just wasn't sure. Wonder the percentage?

We have the first real bunch of preseason games tonight.
GB vs Pitt is interesting mostly for the Steeler players. Lukas Van Ness is finally an unquestioned starter this year and was active early with pressure. Tyrod Taylor still manages to collect a paycheck every year as a number 2 QB despite being one of the worst possible players when called upon plus he’s fragile.
For Pitt an early catch for Skowronek and Wetjen returning both kicks and punts. Mason Rudolph starting and a perfect 9 for 9 for 91 yards in the 1st quarter.

In the NE game going on right now, I’m most interested to see how RB Lan Larison does. He’s competing for the 3rd RB role now that Terrell Jennings is on IR. Here’s a note and scouting report on his main competitor and starter tonight, Jam Miller.

Will Howard with his first ever NFL action at the two minute warning of the first half. Throws to Skowronek on a fourth and inches, also connects with Robert Tonyan, who caught 12 TD passes in 2020 when Rodgers was the GB QB. And now throws a TD pass to Tonyan! Oops, Tonyan ruled just short of the goal line. Howard's 4 of 4 for 75 yards.

Great drive by Howard!
Green Bay drafted Trey Smack out of Florida in the sixth round this year. He kicked two 58 yard TDs in the first half, one of them negated by a penalty. He also kicked a 32 yarder. Looks like yet another White kicker with an accurate "cannon leg" has been found.
