Akron flat out stinks. Not going to waste much time on this one! They start a paltry 3 this season.

Since 2006 10,9,9,8,7,9,8,8,8,7,6,7,6,5, 6, 6, 7 and 3, 4, 4, and 3 in 2026!
OFFENSE = 3

QB Reese Poffenberger 6’1 210 Sixth year Senior? He’s had stops at North Texas, Miami, Albany, and Old Dominion LOL

TE Connor Cravaack RJr. 6’4 245. *Hes recorded 32 catches for 300 yards and a few TDs his first few seasons. Perhaps the only bright spot on this horrid team. Potential for a breakout season.

C Colin Lyons RSr. 6’3 295

DEFENSE = 0 Cleveland Demographics
 


I guess I would call for the quarterback to throw to the tight end!

So again I ask, why does a football program like Akron even exist? If it folded, would anyone care? They are so unserious that they are going to let a “lucky” fan call plays in an actual game. Their attendance and season ticket numbers must be poor, as it should be.

You bring up a great point, FT. This is much worse than I thought. Stunningly worse, actually. I figured they'd at least be in the 15,000 area, which is a joke?

During the 2025 college football season, the Akron Zips played 12 games with a total cumulative attendance of 209,775 people***. Their home attendance averaged 7,729 per game (46,372 total across 6 home dates), while away games averaged 27,234 per game*** (163,403 total across 6 away dates).

I think the only MAC team that does fairly well, attendance wise, is the usually White friendly (compared to their MAC rivals) Ohio Bobcats.

The Ohio Bobcats football team drew an average home attendance of 21,007 fans during the 2025 season. Their highest-attended home game was a record-breaking crowd of 26,740 people for their 17-10 win against West Virginia at Peden Stadium on September 6, 2025

Keep in mid, capacity at Peden is only 24,000. So this is a big time mid-major program, in terms of having a rabid fan base. Peden, built 1927, is also the most pleasant setting of all the MAC venues. Always nearly full stands, very nice looking. Contrast this to most MAC teams that play in dull, anti-septic,empty stadiums, rarely ever half full? Night games are the worst, dark (poor lighting), dank (cold/rainy), with ugly stadium optics and few-fans.

The higher education bubble has to burst at some point. The amount of meaningless degrees, bloated administrative staffs comprising of communists, dei types, retarded white women and lqbtq retards is not sustainable. The shrinking White demographic of college aged kids seem to be more open to the trades and on top of that they are systematically discriminated against not just by lower IQ brown/black Americans but also growing numbers of h1-b visa turd worlders.

Back to football: the last time they had a winning record was 2015. Moorhead is just another caste clown like the rest of the coaches that work to support and adhere to the tenets of the caste system. If Akron churns out 3 White starters despite a long abysmal track record and having the ability to recruit talented athletes in the overlooked MAC geographical recruiting region than no team is immune from this idiocy. It’s apparent more than ever that the college football complex has no desire to change their philosophies collectively and just double down on stupid until very team resembles an SEC team.

You guys are spot on with your insights. Within a decade or 2 many colleges will go under. Its not only all the things that LF mentioned, but also AI is making traditional learning obsolete. You could learn everything a college professor would teach just by interacting with the AI of your choice and asking it to put together an actual curriculum. For example:

So getting back to Akron, it likely won't exist in the future. The football team does not win games, nor generate money as evidenced by the putrid attendance. Therefore, one can only conclude that it exists as a welfare program for blacks. Pump more into the university via football. Now the only question, which really makes no difference, is do the coaches / AD really think the blacks give them a better shot of winning (DWF-dome)? Or is it more cynical and simple a hurt Whitey / help darkie dichotomy?
