Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 6, 4, 6 and 7 whites.

The preseason number 1 Longhorns remain similar to Georgia in featuring a very dark roster with some very interesting players at key positions.

Where to begin? QB Arch Manning is being hailed by some as a once in a generation talent in the making. He finally gets to embrace the calls to start by the fanbase with the departure of Quinn Ewers to the draft.

WR Parker Livingstone is redshirt freshman who shocked me by ending the summer as a projected starter, surpassing the racial apprenticeship I expected him to have. Livingstone has been so dominant that one website asked if "Manning to Livingstone" would be the next "McCoy to Shipley". The 6'4" Livingstone has reportedly been Manning's favorite target in practice.

TE Jack Endries is the other pass catcher joining them on the field. A Northern California native, Endries transferred from hometown Cal to be a redzone threat for the Longhorns.

On defense, users will recognize Michael Taaffe. An epitome of a caste victim, Taaffe has seemingly been part of the Longhorn's secondary rotation since before Covid, but has entered every season battling for reps. The former walk-on has gone from being criticized by the UT fanbase to the team's poster boy. He is now a preseason All American with potential first round hype! 6'6" DE Ethan Burke joins him as a starter, looking to carry offseason hype into a bounceback year. Interstingly, his back up Colton Vasek, the only other white player who might see defensive snaps aside from walk-on Marshall Landwehr, is from the same powerhouse HS in Austin.

UT has some exciting skill players but their overall depth chart is very dark. The last two recruiting classes are coal black too, so I expect 3-4 starters max here pretty soon.

I do recall walk on RB Colin Page, who had some nice moments in a blow out again UTSA. I haven't seen anything about him this offseason but he shined in limited snaps last year.

Saw action in five games ... ran twice for four yards in season opener vs. Colorado State (8/31) ... had four carries for 28 yards vs. UTSA (9/14) ... charted 10 carries for 60 yards against ULM (9/21) ... produced seven yards on the ground on two carries vs. Florida (11/9) ... played vs. Arkansas (11/16) but did not record any statistics.

Longhorns are up there with LSU in the SEC this year. Rooting for Manning to have a big season as their is alot of hype around him. Any interview I have seen or read makes me think he has a good head on his shoulders. seems to be a resurgence in top tier White QBs throughout the country. I can't complain about that ;).

Taafe is a preseason all-American. Should help his draft stock.

Thought this team would be all Manning and Taafe to root for. Didn’t know about Livingstone so that is a huge pleasant surprise! Hope Manning goes to him early and often!
