The Sam Houston Bearkats joined the FBS in 2023 and have had 3 White starters in both 2023 and 2024. In 2025 the Bearkats are projected to start 5.

Sam Houston was blown out last night 55-14. I revisited the depth chart and their starting defense is all coal. Last season the Bearkats went 10-3 and this year they are currently at 0-8. The prior HC KC Keeler has Temple at 5-3 this year. Their current head coach is failed offensive coordinator Phil Longo who stunk as Wisconsin's OC from 2022 to his firing in 2024. Longo is a case of a career failing upwards.

It looks like he tried to run a Mike Leach offense but does not know how to do it. Leach was an innovative genius in the passing game and per Wikipedia Longo uses the Air Raid but has designed it to be either pass or run oriented. Make it make sense.
