Seems like OSU had a snow plow last season. Down to two O-linemen.

he can take it. he’s a man! LOL

Mike Gundy is an OSU legend. Unfortunately, with the death of T. Boone Pickens prior to NIL, we just don’t have the $$ to compete.

Although this post in in jest, it is a ridiculous reality in the college football world. But rather than do actual research and find those high-level white players who are everywhere in a 300 mile radius of Stillwater, the NIL poor teams just go out and get the 2 and 3 star black players that are the only ones on the "scouting inc" sites. Maybe if Gundy and his recruiting team just tuned into some high school action in the five or six surrounding states they might be able to find a ton of overachievers who have done nothing but win. They'll be happy to go to school for the free tuition and a sammitch here and there.

Pickens was the unofficial AD of OSU football and was a rabbi towards Gundy. Honestly if you look at Gundy's resume he should have been fired years ago.

He was on thin ice for on the field performance than any political theatre as if that was a reason for his firing he would have been fired years ago.

@FootballDad agreed on that radius and finding under recruited Football Players rather than rely on scouting sites. Get back to basics.

Typical DWF take. Instead of taking Moneyball approach Oklahoma State needs to replicate what Texas Tech did, and pour 25 million into their roster. How they would get this Monopoly money nobody knows!

Virtually every FBS program recruits exclusively through the free-agent portal and the recruiting services player rankings. Ask any of the coaches/team scouts for OKS if they've tuned into a Jenks HS (perennial white-majority OK HS powerhouse) game lately and they'd say "who?".

OSU could only get 5 star talent if they had character issues, like Tyreek Hill, Dez Bryant, Ollie Gordon. With NIL, they can’t even get those type of guys, because they go to the highest bidder.

OSU is an agriculture school in the middle of nowhere. There is not enough money to compete at a high level under today’s football rules. They should focus their resources on basketball, because you only need 2 or 3 top guys to compete at a high level.

Or they could adopt the old Stanford model. Build up a dominant o-line and front 7 on defense - plenty of White kids in Oklahoma and the Midwest.

It would be great to see a coach think outside of the box and implement a strategy besides whining for more money. In a couple of years if things are still that bad in Stillwater I’ll go scout for 60k a year LOL

The whole point is that OSU could compete at a very high level if they simply ignored the NIL BS and the Scouting services and instead just looked hard at the hundreds of high schools with exceptional totally ignored white talent right in their own freaking backyard. But that would be entirely too much work it seems.
