Since 2006 Oklahoma has started 3, 5, 6, 7, 5, 6, 4, 3,3, 3, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 whites. In 2025 they start 5.

Really disappointing team for Venables.

QB John Mateer is the player to watch out for as he transfers in from Washington St. Rooting for him to have a big season.

Players to look out for are WR Jacob Jordan, TE Will Huggins, TE Jaren Kanak (converted from LB), DE Taylor Wein, LB Owen Heinecke, LB Taylor Heim

Offense
QB John Mateer
TE Carson Kent
LT Jacob Sexton
LG Heath Ozaeta
C Troy Everett

Defense
None

Wow, that was a quick regression. Guess they didn’t recruit well. Hope Mateer has a huge season but otherwise forget about the Sooners this year.

Really irks me how they have treated Kanak. HS RB to LB to TE whatever.

Yea, can’t let a star player star at the position he played and excelled at. Caste System victim.

Kanak did have a huge game at TE at least. 5-90 is pretty damn good for your first game at a new position

The problem is at 6’2 230. There’s not a chance in hell he’ll get drafted as a tight end. He needs to transfer. Go play running back at a smaller school.

Kanak ran a 10.37 100-meters in high school, that is the sixth-fastest in the history of Oklahoma high school athletics!

yet despite possessing that blazing speed and having imposing size, “somehow” he still didn’t measure up as a running back.

“weird,” huh?

Yeah zero racial slotting going on with Kanak. Again I am happy he had a good initial game at TE. Just seems like a no brainer to initially give him a try at RB, lacking melanin though.

Kanak has speed to punked every LB/DB, even he can't block, his speed can still wow NFL scouts like Evan Engram. Engram is a bad TE, cost his QB ligaments always, but still get paid just because his 40' time... Kanak picked his right path now, and he'll have numbers.

Disappointing no Whites on defense. Venables has tradionnaly been fair to White defenders.
