It seems like this yar is off to a pretty dark start so I am going to kick it off with a positive.

Since 2005, Northwestern has started 12, 13, 15, 14, 15, 16, 15, 11, 11, 11, 12, 9, 11, 10, 12, 12, 11, 13 and 13 whites. 13 again with lots of depth. 4/6 of the WRs on the two deep

Back ups include QB Jack Lausch, WRs Drew Wagner and Chase Farrell, TE Hunter Welcing, OTs Deuce McGuire and Matt Keeler, G Anthony Birsa, OC Jackson Carsello, DEs Richie Hagarty and Michael Kilbane, and SS Garner Wallace.

Offense -
QB - Preston Stone
WR - Griffin Wilde
WR - Frank Covey IV
TE - Alex Lines
RT - Caleb Tiernan
RG - Evan Beernsten
OC - Jack Bailey

Defense -
DE - Aidan Hubbard
DT - Carmine Bastone

Yanni is the younger brother of George Karlaftis!

Go Cats indeed! Hopeful they make some noise this year.

Preston Stone was a solid transfer portal pick up. Let's hope the Wildcats sneak up on some teams this year. QB Jack Lausch could be a good change of pace back, very athletic. Solid WR corps and talent at all three levels of the defense.

Let’s hope for a winning season. Most of the polls have Northwestern ranked 17 out of 18 Big Ten teams, behind lowly Purdue.

Northwestern was the lone Big Ten team to lose their non-conference opener, getting pounded at Tulane 23-3. QB Preston Stone was particularly putrid, going 19/36 for no touchdowns and four picks, fumbling twice and losing one of them.

And yet, of those 19 completions, 14 of them were distributed across 6 different white players. Wide receivers Griffin Wilde led the team with 6-64, and Frank Covey IV, Chase Farrell (white-ish), and Carson Grove all found the box score. They were joined by tight ends Alex Lines and Hunter Welcing.

Six of the top eight tacklers were white (I'm afraid we can't claim SS Garner Wallace).

While I'm glad I didn't watch this stinkfest, this is easily one of the most aesthetically-pleasing power conference teams.

Former backup quarterback Jack Lausch, who started ten games last year, left the program this summer to focus on his baseball career. So, the current backups are Gavin Frakes (also a transfer and on his third school) and redshirt freshman Ryan Boe. Maybe one of those guys will see some action soon.

Thanks for the info on Lausch. I was wondering what happened to him. Stone really disappointed in his debut.
