2025 Las Vegas Raiders

Happy for Pickett but sad that it had to be due to injury. Geno Smiff's ceiling is well known, and it is low. Pickett is still young and has far more upside.

Excited to see Pickett getting an opportunity. Hopefully he resets to his Pitt self. His confidence was totally shattered in his Mike Tomlin Steelers experience. His last games with them he was simply bad.

Have a shitty retirement Pete!
No amount of blarney could get Pete out of this predicament.

Ethnic jokes aside I think this firing boiled down to Raiduh upper management didn't trust Carroll with developing Mendoza. Also I noticed the Pete seemed to be aging out or maybe his physical age was catching up to chronical age and he didn't have the energy he had on the sideline like he did in his early years in Seattle. Which also could have been displayed in the coaching rooms and board room meetings too.

Seems like Plantation Pete took the Raiders job to boost his retirement funds. Never seemed like he had the same fire, especially at this stage in his career. Good point @white is right

Hallelujah and good riddance! This piece of Caste crap will never coach again and his career ended about as ignominiously as possible.
Despise him or hate him(!) he will have a win as his final game coaching! :p

If Carroll had stayed on board he likely would have pushed for drafting Magical Moore instead of Mendoza. I never trust any team's upper management these days but firing the gum-chompin' wigger was a great move and a good sign for next year.
