Since 2005, Iowa has started 11, 13, 15, 15, 13, 12, 11, 12, 16, 13, 14, 14, 16, 15, 9, 14, 14, 17, 12 and 12 white athletes. The Hawkeyes start 12 in 2025.
Once again the Hawkeyes do not disappoint. Only real complaints are that a 5'7" black transfer is starting over the 6'4" 215 Reece Vander Zee and no White starter at CB.
We can only hope that Mark Gronowski is the answer at QB after several disappointing seasons at the position. He was one of the best QBs in the FCS during his time at South Dakota State.
Players to look out for are QB Hank Brown (hopefully he is the answer at QB after Gronowski leads them this season), WR Kaden Wetjen (also servers as return man), TE Zach Ortwerth, DT Jonah Pace transferred over from CMU after a productive 2024 season, DT Will Hubert, LB Landyn Van Kekerix, DB Zach Lutmer and DB Kael Kolarik
