2025 European Indoor Championships

Del Ponte has been quite silent in the last few years, her injury really put her behind the rest. I still think Jacabs was and is juicing. Volko is now a seasoned veteran.....and has slowed down since his glory days.

Appledoorn always promises much and delivers. Those top European ladies are always great to watch - nobody consistently beats the others so it's all "on the night" ..... Kambundji, Patrizia Van der Weken, (tats) Swoboda. and often a few who aren't far away and may have improved this season.
Better than watching the men's 60 I think.
I remember attending the 2016 European outdoor champs in Amsterdam - where Dafne Schippers romped away in the 100m and relay 2nd leg AND (as it has been recently revealed) a young Femke Bol was at the stadium checking tickets.

Simon Ehammer of Switzerland, long jumped 8.20m in the Heptathlon.
That mark would have easily won the gold medal in the Long Jump competition.

We had a clean sweep in the Mens High Jump for the medals. Also 2 of the 3 medalists in the Triple Jump were white guys.

Our guys took 5 of the 8 spots in the Mens 60 Meters Semi Finals which will be held later today. I want to give props to 34 year old
Andrew Robertson who ran a 6.57 for the 2nd fastest time of his career. I'm rooting for Henrik Larsson as he got the bronze medal
2 years ago when Samuel Ceccarelli won. Hope Larsson can bring home the gold medal back to Sweden!

This race was run today. Larsson got 2nd in 6.52, which is a new PB and NR.
Robertson took 3rd in 6.55

Robertson is still in great shape. He'll be 35 this year. Wow! I first remember seeing him compete in the race when Lemaitre beat Guliyev for the European junior 100m title in 2009

Henrik Larsson sure can move for a very big guy. He would have run down the whole field in another 10 meters. He broke his 100 meters and 200 meters personal bests last year several times. Hoping he will join the Sub 10 Club this year! If I could lay a bet in Vegas that he does it wind legal I would. The man is just on a mission and I would be shocked if he doesn't dip under 10 seconds. Good luck to Henrik Larsson!

Be great to see Larsson dip into the 9.8's. I think he can with the power he has. Gonna be an exciting summer for sure.

It's Robertson's first ever senior individual medal at a major championships. So congratulations are definitely in order!

I wish more guys had a PURE PASSION for Sprinting the way Andrew Robertson does. He doesn't run for the money but for the love and
passion of competing. The guy still has that drive and desire which is so hard to come by in your mid 30's. Always been his fan.

Then on the other hand we get a sprinter like Samuelle Ceccarelli who made noise for a year or so and then went back to mediocrity. So sad to see as this guy could have been very good if he trained as hard on the track as he does in his scholastic studies. Oh well. At least he won a Euro Indoor Championship. Just leaves me wanted to see more but his desire and drive just isn't there in my opinion.

he is possibly in the mindset of "I've won it once - been there, done that" ...... I guess a few injuries could cement that feeling too. When the passion just becomes a grind it's over.
Yes, I agree with you about Robertson - he's certainly used what he's been given to the fullest. Never the best, but always good enough and passionate enough to earn highest respect.
Imagine him being eligible to run world masters next year

Here's his current Masters competition from 2024 world top list: leader is Guliyev's old relay partner, Barnes

Amy Hunt with a 7.09 60m in the semis then a 7.10 in the final is showing the signs of getting back to her form. Vander werken 7.06 and Swoboda 7.07 a little disappointed in their times finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

yes, she is keeping on with it so hopefully her issues are behind her. A very useful 3rd leg relay team member too.
7.09 isn't half bad for a woman who was basically a 200m specialist (still world number two 18 year old all-time in that event with 22.42).

What I find especially exciting is wondering how her 100s will go come outdoor season. The last 2 years she's run 11.12 and 11.13 on the back of her indoor 7.20s form. Now 7.10/7.09 60 speed what can she do for the 100m. She's not 23 yet and she's 178cms (5"10"), almost Dafne Schipper's height. Let's hope she gets her times also.

What a great video. She is looking great. With those huge strides her 100 should be stellar in my honest opinion. Good to see the
United Kingdom finally have a white female sprinter in the 100 & 200 meters as they have had many men. Good luck to Amy Hunt this
summer and beyond.

I think Femke Bol is the sprinter who looks like she is just out for a jog with her long loping strides, although her facial expression is of fear. Amber Anning is a very good 400m sprinter and Bol pulled away from her with ease.... One thing to note is as follows: if Klaver had slightly longer legs she would be within a meter of Bol. Since she(Klaver) has short legs and a long torso she has to turn over those legs much faster which over 400m is not easy to sustain.
