2025 Cincinnati Bengals

Plenty of good QBs on that list. It’s too bad the Rams decided to keep both Jimmy G and Bennett buried on the depth chart. It’s near criminal that Cousins is a backup too. Bengals could have traded for Devito.

Just a fine example of personnel ineptitude by the Bengals.
LOL! Josh Johnson. Anthony Richardson. Jameis Winston. Russell "Mr. Unlimited" Wilson. With those names on the list, landing Flacco was a home run.

Even before Logan Wilson was demoted, I wondered in one of the weekly threads what was going on with him this season. From posting high tackle numbers and always seeming to be around the ball in previous years as well as being known for making big plays, he pretty much went AWOL. In five starts before his demotion he had yet to even hit 5 solo tackles, which I consider a baseline for a three-down middle linebacker. And of course the Bengals "defense" spends a lot of time on the field, which made his tiny output even more mystifying.

The rookie Carter in his two starts over Wilson has recorded 7 and 8 solos. So while I'm always a vociferous defender of Whites when they're ignored or unfairly caste aside, something's definitely going on this season with Logan Wilson. Maybe he's playing with a minor injury or he's disgruntled; whatever he's still young enough to bounce back in a big way, whether with the Bengals or another team.

Found this tidbit about the linebacker the Bengals discarded Logan Wilson for. Just imagine if Wilson or any other White defensive player had a game like this. It usually takes but a single missed angle for them to become demonized yet I would be very surprised if Carter is under anything approaching that kind of scrutiny and criticism:

There is no doubt that the Bengals regret the firing of Joe Anarumo. I wonder if they are also regretting the trade of Logan Wilson? Barrett Carter had an ugly game in week eleven, not just statistically, but on the field as well. Bad angles, missed tackles, and blown coverage assignments led to a poor stat sheet as well at 1-3. About the only thing Carter had going for him was 100% participation.

Joe Burrow should return for the Thanksgiving Day game. Great news, not only was he thought to be out until December, but the game is against the odious Ravens. Not that there's much left to root for on the Bengals other than Burrow himself, but now at least they have a real chance to win and put a dent in Baltimore's playoff hopes.
