Since 2007, Alabama has started 4 , 3, 8, 4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 6, 4, 2, 3, 1, 1 and 1 whites.

Another good news note from today aside from QB Ben Gulbranson winning the Stanford job is Ty Simpson winning the Alabama job. First one in a while. Even the dark Alabama teams of yesteryear seemed to have started white QBs but no longer. Simpson is backed up by two black quarterbacks in the wings so he will likely be on a short leash.

WR Cole Adams should see some return action and even snaps as a back up.

Geno VanDeMark will likely man one of the OG positions, which side is up for grabs. FCS Cal Poly and UW transfer Josh Cuevas will start at one TE position, with a small chance Brody Dalton, a Troy transfer, mans the other.

SS Bray Hubbard is a lonely white defender but will be an early NFL draft pick.

Offense -
QB - Ty Simpson
TE - Josh Cuevas
TE - Brody Dalton *in a battle for position
OG - Geno VanDeMark
RT - Wilkin Formby

Defense -
SS - Brayson Hubbard

As long as Simpson remains under center Alabama will be another SEC team to root for.

Bray Hubbard playing DB also helps.

6 is about as good as it gets at Bama. Agreed with their star power, not bad for SEC.

Interesting that this team appears whiter than Kalen DeBoer's 2023 runner-up team at Washington. Alabama can buy all the up-transfers it wants, and the program will keep losing five-star backups to the portal.

Good luck to Simpson, he picked Alabama after being the high school state PoY in Tennessee and has stuck around through a coaching change and three seasons on the bench. He has another year of eligibility left and could definitely play his way into an NFL gig.
