2024 NFL Week 12

The good news for SF is that their core nucleus of Purdy, Kittle, CMAC, Bosa, Deebo, and Aiyuk is signed through next season at least and they somehow have one of the highest cap spaces in the league. We've seen Denver, Minnesota, Philly, and KC field elite defenses largely by adding cheap white talent, and after yesterday its clear this team needs some run stoppers. Hoping to see Pearsall emerge and help this team make another run at it next year.

49ers were elite when they had an elite OL. Most teams are.

Also their front 7 in Defense isn’t nearly as formidable as in the past. Imagine if they had gone after AVG instead of Minnesota!

Bingo! The 49ers are reminiscent of the way The Genius would take a receiver in the first two or three rounds seemingly every year, only to have chosen a bust. White talent shouldn't be cheap (that's a separate topic we've discussed a lot) but it is and those organizations that take advantage of it always thrive (as did The Genius before the Patriots changed to being a standard Caste team).

Gardner Minshew is out for the rest of the season after a hard tackle broke his collarbone at the very end of the game yesterday. At least Aidan O'Connell will be activated from IR and if ready may start over the big-time bust Ridder:

Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said Aidan O’Connell (thumb) will be designated to return from injured reserve He’ll have 21 days to be activated, though it seems like the Raiders beat believes he has a chance to play in Week 13 against the Chiefs on Black Friday. If it isn’t O’Connell, it will be Desmond Ridder getting reps. If activated, O’Connell will nevertheless be a bad fantasy play even despite the Chiefs defense looking fairly mortal against the Panthers in Week 12.

more than missing Purdy SF needs a much better secondary than they have. It was like sandlot football for Seattle's offense. Brandon Allen did not utilize CM or Kittle near enough.
I thought Allen played well. Too many turnovers, 6 I believe. Not going to win too many games doing that. A couple of dropped passes, Samuel in particular where Allen through a dart and Deebo couldn't handle it. Allen to me has a very strong arm. Alot stronger than Purdy's. Maybe that thru the WR's off a little. Kittle had no trouble. Six targets and 6 receptions for 82 yards and a TD. Trent Williams being out didn't help either.

Looking forward to tonight's game featuring Justin Herbert, McConkey and Dissly. Fox, Niemann, and Bosa on defense

Yes, McConkey is active tonight. He was questionable with a shoulder injury. Ravens are without Roquan Smith and haven’t had their best defense this season overall. I would imagine both coaches may pound the ball early, but Herbert should have a good game in the end.

Justin Herbert TD Run!! Would like to see him Rush for 100+ in a game one day!

McConkey could get open in an elevator! Nice 17 yard play/catch on Opening Drive

San Diego Chargers 7 - 0

forget L.A. they already have the Rams

Who knew Jacoby Brissett was a tax expert!

Belichick referred to McConkey as the Charger's best receiver.

I like how McConkey knows when to go down, especially playing with a sore shoulder. No need to be a kamikaze hero the way too many White receivers used to, Ladd has complete job security so keep playing smart after the catch.

Jackson isn't struggling, to the contrary. Troy Aikman, who I believe is as fair as any analyst, said earlier in the broadcast that Jackson is playing better than ever this season and is once again the frontrunner for league MVP. And the stats bear that out -- Jackson is third in the league in passing yards, has completed 67% of his passes, has thrown 26 touchdowns (second in the league) to just 3 picks. And of course he still causes damage with his legs.

Baltimore's defense is struggling this season and the team's record isn't quite as good as many expected but they're still among the top teams mentioned when it comes to who's the best in the AFC. Do you have any links to what you describe as a shifting narrative to give the award this season to a non-quarterback? I can see Barkley getting it but Josh Allen is also a very strong candidate.
If Allen wills the Bills to a #1 or #2 seed and the Ravens get a wildcard, it should easily go to Josh over Lamar. The Bills traded away their top receiver and left the cupboard pretty bare for Allen. Jackson on the other hand has an embarrassment of riches. The top RB in the NFL this year (outside of Barkley), a couple very good WRs and a couple good TEs. Plus I’d argue the Ravens offensive line is better than the Bills. So for me, the case is clear who is the MVP.

Quinten Johnston has terrible hands. Another bust receiver drafted highly with “upside” over production…..

Allen has lifted his team on his shoulders like no one else. Best QB in the league but as you say how teams finish in the standings counts too and there's likely some bias among the corporate media in favor of Jackson over Josh.

Derrick Henry may also be in the running if he goes over 2,000 yards again and keeps scoring lots of TDs.

Ladd 4-4 and drew a PI. Dissly 3-3. The others aren’t playing great, but Herbert not doing enough to get things going.

McConkey now 5-5 for 78 yards. Quinten Johnston is absolutely embarrassing himself with his stone hands.

This afternoon ESPN flashed Josh Allen as @1 Leading candidate as MVP.....then Lamar ; Goff ; Barkley were in the Top 4

Always thought Barkley was an Elite back with McCaffrey & Henry ....but arguably the Eagles have the Top O-Line unit in the NFL

I just saw this…

Justin Herbert when targeting Quentin Johnston and Josh Palmer tonight: Completed 3-of-13 passes for 38 yards (all to Palmer). Justin Herbert when throwing to everyone else: 18-of-23 for 175 yards

Just checked the box score and Dissly had 4 targets and 4 catches, McConkey 6 targets and 6 catches.

It is amazing what a top tier offensive line can do. Would like to see the 49ers build up theirs for next year. That and the defensive backfield needs a lot of work.

The one thing urban meyer said which is absolutely correct is that the offensive line, as a whole, is the most important position in football. Imagine the rams offense behind the eagles o-line or the 49ers.
