Last season only Two DB's were selected in the '24 NFL Draft...but BOTH went in the 2nd Round!!
Corner Back Cooper Dejean (Iowa/ Eagles 40th overall) & Cole Bishop (Utah/ Bills 59th)
.........Dejean was the highest white Corner Back taken since Brian Davis-Nebraska 1987/ 30th pick 2nd Round (back when NFL had only 28 teams)
/ Tory Nixon 1985 /33rd pick; Jason Sehorn 1994 / 2nd Round 59th pick) are a few others higher picks; Dustin Fox 2005 (3rd Round/80th) was moved to Safety
Dejean's team mate at Iowa Riley Moss was 2023 Draft was the first White CB taken in the NFL Draft (3rd / 83rd Broncos)
This '24 season looks to have "more depth" . Hunter Wohler should be a Day 2 NFL Draft pick; But would like to see more DB's than just TWO like this year;(but they were BOTH heavy hitters) How many NFL Drafts in the past have had ZERO White DBs Drafted at all?? Or just One??
Would like to see an average of at least 5!!
Interesting that 3 of the 10 DBs shown wear the number #17
