With college football in week 7 the start of week night games kicks off. No MACtion for another month though.

Not much to root for tonight as FIU and Liberty face off in a coal bowl.

This weekend does offer some intriguing games though.

Thanks as always for Starting the Weekly Threads...Already @ 7th!

Had forgotten (Jr.) WR Reece Smith transferred to Liberty from West Virginia.
.......Just made the catch ; landed awkwardly ; knee twisted; needed help going sideline ; did not look good
Has 3 catches tonight for 61 yards
WEEK # 4 vs East Carolina...Smith had his best game of his career 6 rec 80 yards

Liberty / FIU headed to OT 24 - 24

Tommorrow night (Wednesday) could be a little better....

Jax State QB Tyler Huff (rushed for 176 YARDS Saturday) will be playing against New Mexico State....
......but kinda crazy 2 games in just 5 days??!
WR Brock Rechsteiner is buried on the Depth Chart; only 7 rec 146 yards & TD so far this season

Yes sir!!! NICE! Sorry to miss that ....was watching some JMU & Coastal Carolina; flipping TV channels

RB Tyler Purdy had some carries early 4 for 17 yards
TE Taylor Thompson with a TD is a difference maker.
QB Ethan Vasko had had a 29 yard run

And LaTech WR Jay Wilkerson 20 yard TD catch ; had a 15 yard run too

Been waiting for Willis to have a big time game for Weekly Stats!
Had a 6 - 93 game vs Ole Miss earlier this season

@TwentyTwo - I noticed that MTSU went away from Willis for quite a bit of the game. The WR #1 made some absolutely awful drops.

Yeah frustrating ....and QB just missed him over the middle thrown behind him ; dumb azz announcer called Holden Willis a "Tight End".
He did have a 5 yard shuttle pass caught series before.
Willis finished 5 - 79 & TD after quick start.

WOW! La Tech QB Evan Bullock had 290 Yards Passing & 5 TDs + TD Run ...where has this offense been? 48- 21 Win...
WR Jay Wilkerson 2 rec 37 yards TD + 1 carry 15 yards

Western Kentucky WR Easton Messer had a nice game 6 catches 106 yards against struggling UTEP.
Think he's an Ex Walk-on?
QB Caden Veltkamp 264 yards passing 3 TDs + TD Rushing

JMU RB Tyler Purdy (Sr. 5'-11" 208) ran for 36 yards on 8 carries & a 4 yard catch

It’s a shame Justin Olson transferred from MTSU and is now a non-factor for Charlotte.

Bullock as a freshman had a hell of a game! I hope he emerges as a group of 5 elite qb. Same with Veltkamp. Messer had a fantastic catch showing great body control as well as another awesome catch and run. Always fun to see these White QB to White receiver combos emerge in college football.

ASU plays Utah tonight - big test for Skattebo and Leavitt against a good Utah defense.

Northwestern plays Maryland as well.

Ewers will be starting tomorrow against Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.

The game (ASU-Utah) starts late, 10:30 eastern, I believe. Try to stay up and watch guys......Skat is worth the watch. He’s had a couple average games and he’s had a couple phenomenal games. He’s a true, lunch pail, over achieving work horse.

One of those average games by Skatt was on a THURSDAY with just 4 days rest ; after the Saturday running for 262 yards on 33 carries
; he had 56 carries in 6 days = was tooo much...wearing him out.....
25 carries 182 yards last week .....one less day of rest; 9 carries 30 yards so far + 1 catch 16 yards mid way thru 2nd qtr.

Jake Smith had a couple nice Punt Returns.

Utah LB Lander Barton just put a smack on QB Sam Leavitt ...he's hurting.. Back up QB Jeff Sims warming up ; runs in for 1 yard TD

#8 Safety Nate Ritchie has next level ability

Cam Skatteboo with 9 carries for 30 yards mid 2nd quarter. He is having to earn every inch of those yards. Hope the defense wears
down some in the 2nd half. Utah is stout on defense. Both of these teams only have 1 loss all year long.

Maryland got smoked by Northwestern 37-10 at home on the back of four turnovers. Mike Locksley looks like he's lost his team - will he blame his white quarterback? Meanwhile, Dave Braun continues to overachieve with his white-friendly squad.

Grad student Jake Arthurs got a charity carry for the Wildcats late in the game and took it to the house!

Good win for Northwestern, taking down Baltimore Terrapins. Locksley stinks and is easy to cheer against.

#HUMAN HIGHLIGHT REEL

Check out the catch @ 47 secs too

#8 WR Jake Smith had a 8 yard run on a reverse

Arizona State beats Utah 27 - 19
....Cam Rising was not 100% healthy
TE Brandt Kuithe 3 catches 44 yards + 3 carries 19 yards

Utah State WR Jack Hestera had a really nice break out game 10 rec 152 yards & YD ...lost 50-34 to UNLV
QB Spencer Petras 461 yards 3 TDs....that would have been 3 games worth of stats @ Iowa!

The young man is fun to watch. He’s getting a lot of love and respect from the announcers. Getting drafted was talked about. One of the announcers mentioned how the coach put Cam in on kickoffs just to show on tape how determined and awesome he is on coverage. That, along with his running, “will get him drafted”. I’m glad I stayed up. Awesome performance.

I hope he ends up with the Broncos, because they desperately need a hard hitting RB like Skattebo

Just the very fact that some of the white running backs are getting consideration to play in the NFL is incredible news. It hasn't happened yet but we all know he is more than capable of playing on Sundays. These kids deserve a shot. Skatteboo weighs 215 lbs so he has the nfl
size already with the durability to go with it. My favorite running back as I said a week ago. So tough to bring down. This man fights for
every yard yet never seems to get hurt. If ASU keeps winning and makes a high level bowl game it will be primarily due to this kid!

Two bonkers highlights, wow. This is simply exceptional stuff.

It's easy to get ahead of ourselves here, but forget "getting drafted," - I could foresee this dude in a close cluster with the top RBs off the board next spring.

I know that the Boise State kid is putting up an amazing season - who else other than him could you even consider for RB1? In fact, give Scattebo some Heisman rub in this unconventional year!

Cam Skattebo is really incredible. Has fantastic agility and is able to make “joystick” cuts within tight spaces. He looks just as good as any of our 4 RBs that made the NFL this season. The fact that he is elevating a typically lousy Arizona State team as well shows his value. Like Phall is saying, maybe the expectations for this young man should be elevated!
