Since 2007 Clemson has started 5, 5, 5, 2, 4, 3, 5, 5, 3, 6 ,6, 8, 7, 9, 6, and 7 white athletes. In 2024 they look to improve for the third year in a row to 8! We're really going to miss Wil Shipley. Hopefully he continues his success in the NFL. Despite losing Shipley at RB, Clemson has RS JR Troy Stellato moving into the starting WR-X slot. With Cade Klubnik starting at QB and NFL prospect Jake Briningstool starting at TE. So, Clemson will start 6 white players on offense including 3 OL.
On defense Clemson will add 1, RDE Cade Denhoff RS JR and once again SLB Wade Woodaz. However, big time freshman recruit Sammy Brown is getting reps at the number 1 MLB spot. I would expect to see him get plenty of opportunities to play if not take over the starting position midway through the season. He is getting rave reviews for his intelligence, speed and strength.
Worth mentioning: Once again there are 3 white WR's competing for the same position. Stellato, Cole Turner, and SO Ronan Hanafin.
Hanafin is also listed as the number 2 KR on special teams. Hanafin a big WR target at 6'3 210, might be someone to look out for.
Offense-
QB-Cade Klubnik-JR
WR-Troy Stellato-RS-JR
TE-Jake Briningstool-SR
LG-Collin Sadler-RS-SO
RG-Walker Parks-GR
RT-Blake Miller-JR
Number 2 QB Chrstopher Vizzina RS-FR could push Klubnik if he doesn't play well.
Look for WR Cole Turner to get ample playing time.
Defense-
RDE-Cade Denhoff-RS-JR
SLB-Wade Woodaz-JR
Freshman Sammy Brown is listed as the number 2 MLB. I look for Brown to get plenty of playing time if he continues to impress.
...and in the future, you could see Denhoff, Woodaz, Brown all starting next season if not late this season.
FS- Tyler Venables could see some action as well.
KR-Ronan Hanafin listed second on the depth chart.
