Larsson 10.17 and Browning 10.18 in the finals.

I predicted a 10.15 for Henrik Larsson and a sub 10.10 for Rohan Browning. I wasn't too far off. I believe Larsson would have went faster
with more rest. Those 200's he is running are paying off in my honest opinion. The times don't matter as it's only to increase his O2 Capacity
for better speed endurance. This is great that Henrik Larsson finally broke his p.b. he set way back in 2019. Trust me when I say that he has
alot more than just this. I said a month or two ago that I see sub 10.10 at minimum for him this summer.

One last thing. His 10.17 p.b for Larsson today was run with only a 0.1 wind so he ran that time all on his own in his 2nd race of the day
after running the 200 meters just 3 days ago. Not bad if you ask me.

Wish Browning ran a little better. For some reason he doesn't seem to run as good in Europe as he does in Australia and Japan. Still a
high quality time but I wanted more. We have had way too many of our sprinters remain stuck on 10.01 all the way into retirement. I
would be so deveastated for the kid if 4 or 5 years from now he was still stuck on that number. No doubt he has the talent to not only
go sub 10 but to do it on multiple occasions. The first one is always the hardest one.

Jan Volko ran a 10.26 +0.3 wind today. He has had the same lady coach for many years now. His coach's name is Nada Bendova. I'm sure
she is a nice lady but I don't think she is a good coach. He seems too loyal to her though just like Lemaitre and many of our others guys were. It holds them back from bigger & better things.

Larson was impressive - zero wind and, from the full side on view replay, a fantastic start. Browning was possibly 3 feet behind him by 10 metres out and had to claw some distance back little by little but still finished 1/100th behind him.
Charleston's drive phase was unreal in comparison to everyone else. Can everyone learn to do it this way? Is it the competitive U.S. system that enables people to better learn their craft? probably body mechanics have a role to play too because we're all different

Excellent post. Yes Charleston has that drive phase down to a science. Very impressive as the race was over early on.

I posted about Henrik Larsson in his individual thread too. He has been breaking his personal best both indoors & now outdoors.

yes, a highlight start to his year thus far. May it continue for this 23 year old. I just updated his time on Wiki

Marcell Jacobs will not participate in the upcoming 2023 European Athletics Team Championships, a continental event by nation as part of the 2023 European Games in Poland. The blue champion of the global sprint, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo in the 100m and in the 4×100m relay, has decided to give up the event due to injury to try to recover better in view of the World Championships in Budapest at the end of August.

At this point a question arises: who will take Jacobs' place for the blue colors in the 100 meters in Chorzow? In reality, the choice of the Italian technical staff is almost natural considering the performance of our sprinters this season, net of any last-minute physical setbacks or alternative schedules.

In absentia of the European record holder on the straight, Samuele Ceccarelli has in fact proved to be the main candidate for the call-up. The 23-year-old from Massa, indoor continental champion in the 60 meters in Istanbul last March 4, boasts the best Italian performance of the year also in the 100m after running in 10 "13 at the seasonal debut outdoors in Florence at the Golden Gala.

Larsen's 10.15 is nice as it is a PB but he has to run alot faster to be in the mix, he needs to be 10.05 and faster. To put it into context both his time and Brownings would have place second last and last is the recent NCAA Div1 100m final.... I think Browning struggles outside of home and Japan as he is a big fish in a small pond but in Europe and say the US he is a very little fish in a huge pond.....it is confidence in my opinion.

I think we can say with all confidence that Jacobs is the George Santos of track and field and seems to be getting more mysterious as his athletic career unfolds...

At the 2023 Olso Diamond League Meet we saw Femke Bol continue to shatter records as she won in yet another New Meet Recort
Time of 52.30! This is the fastest time in the world in 2023 and she won by over 1 second in the 400 meter hurdles! Amazing!

20 year old Norway Sprinter just shocked everyone!

Håvard Bentdal INGVALDSEN finished in 4th in the 400 meters in a new Norway National

Record Time of 44.86! This is a huge breakthrough for this young man. Congrats as it's his first sub 45 race ever!

Eva Swoboda 6th place in the 100 at 11.07. Same old.

She was leading the race for what looked like the first 50 to 60 meters. I think it's nerves. Some sprinters and track athletes
just seem to always tighten up in the big meets. Both men and women. She has the talent and she is one of the best 60
meters sprinters in the world. Ewa Swobada just has trouble finishing out her races strong. Maybe I saw it wrong but it appeared
to me as if she just got tense and tightened up which allowed. almost everyone to pass her. She went from 1st to 6th in a matter
of seconds. Overthinking in my opinion. When she is relaxed the speed just flows.

Who knows, maybe she is dreaming about her next tattoos? Sadly before long her whole body will be covered like a jail inmate or
a hells angels biker chick. Let's body are and more discipline is needed in my opinion. She is wasting such elite talent away!

Karsten Warholm and Jakob Ingebrigtsen are just both related to Super Man. Incredible performances as usual. Happy to see
Warholm back! He has been missed. The American CJ Allen looked great finishing 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles to Warholm

Ingebrigtsen is only 2 seconds from the world record in the 1500 meters after todays world leading time. I still believe he will
break it as he is still so young. In my opinion he waited too long to make his move to the front. If he went a little sooner the time
might have even been in the very high 3.26 range.

With the end of the 2023 South Africa Track Meet Season we saw 2 guys really stand out for that country.

Werner Bezuidenhout was the fastest Under 18 Sprinter with a time of 10.45 +0.2 Not bad for a 16 year old

Armand Van Der Walt was the 2nd fastest Under 20 Sprinter with his 10.30 +0.4 and 20.50. He also ran 10.19A & 20.43A

I must admit I've never had big dreams for Swoboda in 100m - to me she's a 60m sprinter with short, stocky, powerful legs that aren't in their element when a more open stride is needed once acceleration is finished.
CJ Allen is a very good 400H man and I see Trevor Bassitt was a few places down and will round into form. I expect both to round into top form by mid August in Budapest.

I agree that Swoboda is a 60 meter specialist, but still, she should have learned to relax by now and get into the 10.9s. What is she, 25 years old or something like that. She's been in a lot of big meets.

if she can't relax it's probably because she's always expecting her rivals to catch her. I reckon it'd be pretty much ingrained in her by now from doing it over and over again. Tough to overcome

FInally we see a good time from Karl Erik Nazarov. He ran a time of 10.18 +1.4 wind for a new personal best. With his
vast improvements in his 60 meters times indoors the last 2 years it finally paid off & showed outdoors over the 100 meters!

With his young age and how skinny he is we may see some more personal bests before the summer ends! Happy to see him
have a race to build some confidence in this young man.

This update hardly fits here but doesn't belong anywhere else. Unlikely regional 200m champion Brandon Miller, who won the big high school national meet in 2020, was forced to run for D2 Grand Valley State track in 2021. Am I off by a year?

I just suddenly was struck by wonderment about where he'd been. He took his talents to Kentucky and contributes around to their non-competitive SEC team. All of his metrics are way below, say, Boling.. and he hasn't yet beaten his best HS time. I'm sure he's mismanaged, but to what extent?

He has a lot of accolades and has exceeded Kentucky's standard for a track guy. Here...

Samuli Samuelsson just clocked a new Finnish NR of 10.12 with +0.9 tailwind in Kuortane Finland, Oliver Bromby of GB ran the exact same time for his new PB in this race. Cravont Charleston won the race with a new PB of 9.90. Excellent conditions to run in Finland, as we have a heat wave nearing 30 celsius degrees.

Samuli is a technically extremelly sound lightweight sprinter who benefits from tailwind quite a bit because of his light structure. Proud to be a Finn. Might have more to come.

First off I'm very happy for you, Samuli Samuelsson and the country of Finland. What a talent you have and he is starting to get noticed
outside of Finland which is even more exciting. That is a fantastic time and he ran this right after his 10.16 a week ago. My only fear is
that he may have peaked already early in the summer. Let's hope not as he is setting the track on fire!

As for Oliver Bromby, it's about time. Huge breakthrough for him and many of us on this message board have been waiting to see him
finally live up to his potential as a youth sprinter. This is huge for his confidence but like with Samuelsson let's hope both of these guys
can go even faster in the next couple of months!
