Since 2005, Washington started 6, 8, 9, 8, 8, 6, 5, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 8, 10, 8 and 4 white players, excluding 2014 where no write-up was done. New all time low of 3 in 2023.

This team is one to root heavily against. I feel the Pac 12 as a conference has reached SEC levels and I believe every school outside of Oregon has a non-White starting QB.

Players to watch out for are QB Dylan Morris, TE Jack Westover, LB Carson Bruener, LB Tristan Dunn, DT Jacob Bandes

Offense
C Matteo Mele
RT Roger Rosengarten

Defense
S Asa Turner

Also, Asa Turner looks like he attends Antifa rallies.

I'm growing suspicious that these rosters are shaped by the university administration and admissions department as much as any recruiting impetus.

Here's a crude thought experiment. Imagine a series of IQ bell curves for each race plotted on one graph. The black bell curve is the furthest to the left. The outlier genius blacks all matriculate at Harvard and the like, even though something like 12 out of 13 black admissions would not get in on race-blind merit alone. The lower tier of Ivy League school already has to lower their standards to admit token black students. By the time you get down to the #55 ranked school in the country (University of Washington), you are fast-approaching the black pool of applicants at the center of their bloc's IQ bell curve (ie ~85). This is a logistical nightmare for multiple reasons.

With sports (especially football), you bake in a significant number of annual admissions, who will be naturally "coddled" with the support staff (dedicated advisors, tutors, specialty courses, etc) to help them overcome their IQ lag and get through with a degree.

Washington has an undergrad population of roughly 36,000, and just 3% are black. If the football team keeps about 80 blacks (scholarship and walk-on) on its roster, they're accounting for 8% of all blacks at the university. Can the school afford to replace those charity cases with local boys from the Pacific Northwest?

Assume that virtually every American university is liberal-leaning to some extent. If you sit on the Board of Regents, would you allow your black student body to drop by 8% for the sake of white male athletes, who will then be getting their tuition comped? Ha!

I certainly think your theory and the logic behind it is very sound @Phall and it could very well be tied up with recruiting in some way as well. At the very least it is certainly another cog in the caste system machine.

Backup QB Dylan Morris entered the transfer portal to secure a (starting) spot next year with James Madison. He's had an interesting career so far.

A local kid from Puyallup, Washington, he committed to his hometown school as a 4-star prospect, the #5 "pro-style" quarterback in the country. He redshirted the 2019 season, after which coach Chris Petersen unexpectedly stepped down. Petersen chose to appoint black co-DC Jimmy Lake as his successor.

In 2020 Morris was thrust into the starting role in the weird four-game covid season of 2020, earning honorable mention in the Pac12. He regressed in 2021, as the wheels fell off for Jimmy Lake, who fell upward into a full buyout and an "assistant head coach" position for Sean McVay's LA Rams after coaching just thirteen games for the Huskies.

Kalen DeBoer succeeded Lake and brought transfer quarterback Penix with him. Morris decided to stick it out, which wasn't an imprudent choice considering Penix's laundry list of previous injuries (he finished only 1 of 4 seasons as Indiana's starter). Amazingly, DeBoer patched together a great (non-white) pass-blocking offensive line and just completely removed quarterback runs from the Huskies' playbook. Penix put up gaudy numbers while staying untouched, and both he and DeBoer look like prodigies. Meanwhile, Morris had to take a big step down to find a taker for his rather-old game tape. I'll make a point to check on the Dukes box scores next year to see how he fares.

As for the rest of this team, it looks like safety Asa Turner (part Polynesian, apparently) has returned to the starting lineup after missing most of the season with various injuries. Linebacker Carson Bruener won a starting job and sits third on the team with 80 tackles. Backups Dunn (safety), Bandes (DT), and Drew Fowler (LB) average about one tackle each per game.

On offense, the o-line consists of two Polynesians, two blacks, and right tackle Roger Rosengarten. Geirian Hatchett is the sixth plug-in offensive lineman. Jack Westover won the starting job at tight end and is lumped in between third and fifth on the team for catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns.

Asa Turner and Jacob Bandes come from California, and Rosengarten is from Colorado. Every other white player listed above is a Washington state native: extrapolate from that what you will. Bruener and Hatchett also have younger brothers on the roster.
