Since 2017 the Chanticleers have fielded teams of 5, 9, 9, 8, 7 and 3 whites. After a blip down last year, back to 7 this year.

Jamey Chadwick departs for Liberty after a successful four years here with a 39-22 record. New coach Tim Beck has roots from previous stops in Kansas, Ohio State, Texas, Nebraska, and North Carolina State - so expect more of the same caste themes here in the future.

After not gaining much traction in the 2023 draft, Grayson McCall comes back for one more season with the Chants. Unfortunately for him, and us, not much depth other than at the OLine and LB positions

The downplaying of Grayson McCall by the usual suspects is absurd. He's one of the top QBs in the country and considering what he has done at CCU should be getting much more positive praise and NFL draft buzz. I'd be curious to see what his transfer portal process was like since he decided to stay at CCU.

The former CCU head coach leaving for Liberty is a head scratcher as well. Not that he was White friendly at CCU because we saw an obvious downward trend at CCU (after a promising start as they jumped up from FCS). Liberty seems like a lateral move at best, perhaps he saw that bozo Hugh Freeze's (the same that "coached" from a hospital bed) trajectory improve and land a job at Auburn after being fired from Ole Miss previously for scandals around recruiting.

Coastal also picked some stud transfer TEs, Cane Berrong and Kendall Karr, from UNC and Norte Dame respectively. One of the two will start.
