Freethinker
Hall of Famer
In recent years, the Panthers have been a run-of-the-mill Caste outfit. Gone is the fool Rhule and in steps Frank Reich in a sort of head coach shuffle. Will the team be any more friendly to Whites with Reich. Let's see:
Total White players on 53-man roster: 10
Total White starters: 4
Grade: F
OFFENSE
QB: Andy Dalton
WR: Adam Thielen
TE: Hayden Hurst, Giovanni Ricci
C: Bradley Bozeman
G: Cade Mays, Nash Jensen, Calvin Throckmorton
DEFENSE
None
SPECIALISTS
P: Johnny Hekker
LS: J.J. Jansen
INJURED RESERVE
Henry Anderson (DE), Brady Christensen (G), Austin Corbett (G)
PRACTICE SQUAD
Jake Luton (QB), J.D. DiRenzo (G), Derek Wright (WR)
I don't want to waste too many keystrokes writing about this lousy Caste Team. Overall #1 pick Bryce Young hasn't look good and is now hurt. Enter journeyman Andy Dalton, who if the competition was fair, would be starting while Young learned and got a sense for the pros. Can't have that anymore with the large financial investment, so now these guys are expected to start no matter if they are ready or not. Adam Thielen is the main reason to watch this team. The 10 year veteran, Minnesota native finally leaves his local team and tries to revitalize his career. He had a positive week 2 so hopefully he's still the great receiver we know him to be. TE Hayden Hurst is another nice addition, who the Bengals seem to be missing already. Hurst's career year was 2020, so he too is hopeful that he can turn back the hands of time. The offensive line is only 2/5ths White, however Christensen and Corbett are on the IR so perhaps there could be improvement there.
The defense is 100% coal until Anderson returns. The only PS guy of interest to me is WR Derek Wright. The former Utah state player would make a nice addition but that seems unlikely. I'll be rooting for this team to lose more often than not.
