Matthew Boling brings home the gold medal in the SEC Champs Mens 60 Meters Finals. Not a good time though as he won in a 6.64 which is very
dissapointing. It was a photo finish and both him and D. Vanover had the same time. It must have went to the thousands of a second. For not running
the 200 I have to admit I was expecting a way faster time. Regardless I'm happy that he won especially with skipping running in the 200 meters.

Boling and 2nd place had the exact same time down to the thousands of a second.
At one point they said Boling won; later they said it was a tie.
Boling didn't have a great start, but came late and threw himself over the line at the last possible moment.
It really reminded me of Lemaitre.
Here's the race:

Unfortunately, Abby Steiner took 3rd in the 60m.
While Boling won or tied for 1st in the men's 60m, it really wasn't an impressive race.
I hope they both can continue to work on and improve their short sprint speed.

Good news!!
Abby Steiner came back to win the 200m in an incredible time of 22.09!!
That's a new collegiate record, breaking her old record (22.37), by mile!!
It also has to be one of the fastest times ever indoors.

She must have been pissed about losing the 60m!

Abby Steiner has lived up to all the hype. She is a true superstar. To run an American and New NCAA All Time Indoor 200 meters time ever is AMAZING!

As was said above this is the second fastest time by any sprinter ever in the history of the world! :)

You know I've been following track for a long time, and up until the past 5+ years, there have basically been no white American female sprinters.
Even less so than the men.
But, in the last several years we've had a mine flood of top level female sprinters.
It started with Jenna Prandini, then Hannah Cunliffe, Mary Beth Sant Price (who has a good shot of being national champ in the 60m tomorrow), and now Abby Steiner.
All of these women are or were, running at a top national level i.e, able to get a lane or medal at the finals of a national championship.
It's exciting!!

Adam Thomas and Andy Robertson finish 1st and 2nd at the British Indoor Championships, with excellent times of 6.56 and 6.58.
Too bad Charlie Dobson was a DNS. That could have been a 1,2,3 finish.

Just saw the race on twitter.
Robertson was leading the whole way, and Thomas came back on him (just like Boling did today), and nipped Robertson at the tape.
Happy for Thomas, and a little disappointed for Robertson.

Abby Steiner is a once in a lifetime talent. She broke a record that had stood for 26 years! Way to go Abby. I really hope she can win the National Championship in a few weeks. She deserves it with all the hard work and dedication after serious injuries last year that interrupted her season.

Mary Beth Sant Price was the fastest qualifier in the 60m heats at US Indoor Championships.
Her time was 7.08.
The 2nd fastest qualifier was 7.09.
So she's in for a battle in the finals later today.
Good luck Mary Beth!

Jackson Webb only ran a 6.75 and he didn't advance. Webb ran a 6.59 last year but he seems to have regressed. It's tough now that he is in the real world
as he probably doesn't have the facilities and coaching he had in college. Without a few sponsors most athletes give up their passion very quickly.

It's a shame that Devin Quinn regressed so much too. He didn't even bother entering as he knows he is not in the right shape. At 25 he has to get his form right
very soon as father time is cruel. He looked so good last year indoors and then faded mostly outdoors. This year he looks very average & slow indoors. I don't blame
him for not entering the US Indoor Champs. Smart decision. Hope he can get back to the basics and still have a good summer season. The World Championships are
in Eugene, Oregon. It's shame Quinn isn't in better form. Would love to see a prime Quinn and Teeters but that's not gonna happen.

Happy for Mary Beth. I would love to see her win her first major nat'l championship at the senior level. She is also in her mid 20's so the time is now!

Hey, more great news!!
Trevor Bassitt is the US Indoor Champion in the 400m!!
He's kind of come out of nowhere (although he has been discussed here before), and ran a SB of 45.75.
Congrats to Trevor!!!

If you guys find a decent clip of Trevor Bassitt's 400m run that would be great!

Brittany Aveni, won her heat in the 400m finals.
Her time was equal to 3rd overall.
I think that qualifies her for the relay team at the World Indoor Championships.

Damn!!
Mary Beth Sant Price ran 7.08 to get 2nd in women's 60m.
She lost by 1/100 of a second!!
Still a stellar performance and time.

She was so close. She still was amazing. Mary Beth Saint runs sub 7.10's like clockwork. This is just so heartbreaking to lose by an eye lash. Hopefully
it will motivate her to be a strong force outdoors this summer.

Trevor Bassit was the first college sprinter to win the 400 meters at the US Indoor Championships since Michael Johnson. He was amazing today!
Thanks for posting the video. I will probably watch it a few more times!

some really good results across the board. Are white sprinters starting to believe they can run again? That's what I'm here to see..... athletes of self-belief and competitiveness
