Since 2006, Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, and 6 white players. In 2022 they look to move down to the lowest ever with 4.

Would you expect anything else? It’s the same thing year after year. Last year was a bit better on defense with Luke Brockermeyer and Brenden Schooler as starters at LB and S. Brockermeyer tore his ACL last November and they brought in a bunch of transfer LB’s. Not sure when Brockermeyer will be ready to play but I would be surprised if he gets his starting job back. Decent depth on the OL with a few starters, but that is subject to change. Walk-on DB Michael Taaffe cracked the depth chart in spring at nickel so he might see some time. Will be an interesting QB battle between Ewers and Card. One thing I’ve noticed is that year after year Texas has TONS of white walk-ons all over the roster but they will never sniff the field.

Interested to see if the Ewers hype train has any substance. Ewers was one of the first players to majorly cash in on NIL money (by hilariously renting himself to Ohio State for a year to take a redshirt). He's no longer the only millionaire teenager who hasn't played a snap, but he might be a case study to see just how unsustainable that is.

Card is not a millionaire, and I wonder how he'll respond to the QB competition. The guy who he was benched for last year (Casey Thompson) transferred to Nebraska for a better shot at playing time. Card played wide receiver in high school, so maybe he'd consider a position change (haha, not at Texas!).

Nebraska doing a black quarterback swap this offseason has to be one of the more asinine moves. Exchange one mediocre black quarterback for another - makes no sense.

As for Texas it looks like more of the same. I hope Ewers is able to live up to the hype as you mentioned.
 
Boring team to follow. Ewers seems more interested in his mullet and $$ than playing College Ball. Then again, maybe he's a genius and played Ohio State like a very expensive fiddle. Which I don't mind, lol.

Fuggin pathetic. Another Texas, Big 12 team, that has zero honkeys on Defense.
